    Ok, where are the 590's?

And why are they hard to get?
Also why haven't they come down in price?
I mean, they came out more than 6 months ago.

I want to buy one in june but don't want to pay more than $300.

You won't find a GTX590 for $300. They appear to have been discontinued due to high failure rates.

So the 580 is the best now?
I was hoping for more performance.

Yep, until Kepler is finally released, the GTX580 is the best nVidia has.

    i looked at performance gain an AMD 7970 for $600 only gets 16fps more than a 470 an NVIDIA 580 13fps more than a 470..a 570 only 6fps more....:thumbdown

I remember when the next gen cards would give 30-40fps more.
I think it's 3 things they are trying to make more $$ off of us...silicon is tapped out.......and PC games are just cosole games now...so the GFX, are not where they could be today.

I like to see how much $ per frame your getting when upgrading cards to see if its worth it.
I need to do some homework and figure this out.

So to upgrade from a NVIDIA 470 to a AMD 7970.......you get 16fps on average more.........Cost per frame $37.50..:thumbdown

    NVIDIA 580 13fps more..........cost per frame 38.50......

Not a good time to upgrade.

All my friends are buying consoles. For the price of a new videocard, you can buy a console once, and then play it for many many many years.

But if you keep computers up to date, you end up spending thousands for "slightly" better eye candy, thats just stupid price/performance.

I've ecided for my next pc upgrade I won't get a high-end vidocard, use the extra available money to buy dual xeon mobo and 2 cpus, and just use consoles for gaming, it's a lot cheaper.

I wouldn't upgrade from a gtx 570 to an AMD 7970 even if the price wasn't too damn high...best thing you can do is wait for kepler and see how prices will be then ..but i wouldn't get too optimistic.

Nvidia scrapped the 590's ages ago as they were faulty, kept blowing up.

Well, they better do something, because high GFX card prices and nothing but console ports = waist of $..........for the PC gamer..

I have not upgraded anything in a full 12 months. vga`s are almost 16 months old. I`m alright for the time being. I bought my psu to be future proof, 1 year old and 6 years of warranty left
