I was going to get a Nexus 7 but I ended up just selling my Nexus 4 and getting a Nexus 5 and was definitely worth it for me. I already have a desktop and when I'm on the go I take my phone, cant lug around too many things. Having a tablet does have its perks like bigger browsing, able to watch videos or do whatever but I also have a laptop if I'm staying out longer. I just boot up nesbox (app from windows store) hook up my 360 controller and play classic nes/snes games :)

But for me I also go used to browsing on my phone, I check emails, play games/music, browse forums and even buy stuff without needing a desktop/laptop so if I did have a tablet my use for my phone would be less and while I would save battery, I probably wont use it as much so for me just having one device is good enough :)

Play baldur's gate 1 & 2 on it, watch videos/movies and use it as I would my laptop except when I'm lying in bed or on the go. Waiting for Broken Age to see if that can support touchscreen play (works for The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us)

These days I seem to mainly use mine for flashing ROMs lol

Rarely I play any games on it, I use my PC for everything else, Im just forever flashing the latest ROM to keep it up to date and play with new features of KitKat

I use mine for everything I ever used a laptop for plus it's great for watching TV shows in bed or the bath, I also take it in my car to play music through the stereo and for sat nav with a bluetooth gps reciever, the bigger screen makes it much easier to change music when driving than the tiny screen on my phone, plus my phone's sound quality stinks.

I have a Barnes and noble Nook HD running cyanogen mod 11 (kitkat), for the price it's a very useful thing. My phone is a ZTE Blade (overclocked to 780mhz, WOW) that's also running kitkat somehow but it's getting far too long in the tooth and will be replaced soon with a Blade V.

I like to get the most out of low cost hardware. :D

We have 6 tablets in our family. (everyone except me has at least one)
    Kindle Fire HD 7
    Kindle Fire HDX 7
    Kindle Fire HD 8.9
Asus Transformer Prime w/ dock (10.1" screen)
    two Google Nexus 7 tablets (v2, 2013)

I've played with all of them extensively and what I find them useful for is:

    --Bathroom Reader
--Car Repair manual (useful when following along with car repair posts)
--Gaming supplemental screen (good for viewing maps, tutorials, etc)
--PLEX remote (fyi - PLEX is like Netflix for your own stuff)
--Watching PLEX while I'm outside smoking.
--Killing time when waiting away from home (for bus, plane, ferry waiting, etc)
    --Large screen GPS navigation unit

Having played with 7", 8.9" and 10.1" tablets, I think 7" is the perfect size. I have an over-sized cell phone with a 4.8" screen (Galaxy S3) that is fairly large so I personally haven't been swayed to buy a tablet for myself just yet. I bought both my kids the tablet I'd been eyeing for myself, the Nexus 7. It doesn't disappoint and I may still get myself one.

All in all though, I could absolutely live without a tablet. I find the limiting Android and iOS to be quite annoying and the Windows tablets (with a proper OS) are far too expensive to even bother with.

Bought a lenovo yoga tab b6000 which is 8 inch. No 3g but cheap. Sold my Samsung tab 8.

Anyway. This is si east to hold device. A bit weak i guess in terme of performance but it is ok. No bloatware like Samsung. RAM is efficient.

    Strongly recommended

I have an iPad mini and I use it for a lot of stuff. About 40/60 work and fun.

    - E-mail
    - Security cam. viewer
    - Network tools
    - Remote desktop/VNC/Team Viewer

    - Web
    - Skype
    - YouTube
    - Books and magazines reader
    - VLC remote control for the PC
    - Movies and clips
    - Pinball machine in bed
    - Plants vs. Zombies for my girl and we will try in the weekend DUO mode on Beyond Two Souls

I find it quite useful and prefer it much more than a laptop to carry around. I'm not going to take my laptop when I go out, but I have a light device that I can put in a backpack or bigger pocket in case I need to do some work, check something on the web or just read or play while waiting somewhere.
The one big thing is that you just press a button and start doing what you want. With a laptop you need to open it, put somewhere, wait for it to boot and so and so on. Of course I'm not going to write long documents or perform complicated tasks in Excel or other software on it, but then again if I'm going to, I'll sit on my PC or laptop at home or office.
And the battery life is great - on normal use it get one week easily.

I got a Xperia Z tablet instead of rebuying my broken note 2, pretty happy with it.

Primarily a video player from sofa or bed, waterproof is handy, put it in bathroom while showering with no concern. Super useful at college where the network goes up and down a lot, pull powerpoints, word documents quickly, web pages and share them about, work on the (4:3 monitor) pcs while having my notes beside me.

Good for pulling up websites while playing ps3 or somesuch as well.

1million% better than the eee transformer I had in 2012.

Using my Nexus 7 2013 every day like some already said i use it mainly for multimedia stuff or gaming here and there, even used it as a second screen when i was using Windows 7 via AirDisplay but too bad it isn't working anymore on Win 8.1 due to support laziness.

The games i play on there mostly are Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, with the ElementalX custom kernel i use i Oced the Tab to 1.9Ghz and GPU to 627Mhz and Undervolted it about -50 mV (i love fiddeling around with OC and stuff). Battery life is awesome and i just improved it further with buying Tasker and making some scripts.

I actually don't want to miss it, i own a Nexus 5 too but to be honest i prefer the larger screen on the N7 cause gaming is much easier on it with Touchscreen but some games even support X360 Controller like JK2 and JK3

Have Asus Memopad HD 7. Nice size for travel or when away from PC, not too big, not too small. Web browsing on 4.8" screen of my S3 or any other phone just wont do.
