No, Wolf3D and Doom 1 and 2 were semi 3D games. Quake 1 was the first true 3D FPS and the first using polygons instead of sprites.

Nope, wrong here. Terminator : Future shock was the first game with fully 3D environment.

    2. sim city 3000 world edition i used to love the detail expressed in this game, considering when it was released and the 3 different construction styles selectable it was one of the best looking games ever.

3.COH The first RTS that didnt leave me asking for more graphically, having realistic maps, infantry etc.. really set the bench for RTS graphics and was slightly disappointed that C&C 3 didnt learn the lessons from it (its a great game anyway) but coh had the good ratios and city scape.

Need For Speed 2 SE (the 3dfx version, amazing for its time)

Unreal (the 3dfx version, again amazing for its time and some great online play)

STALKER (when you added it all up this game just looks great, pics don't do it justice)

But I've also had many more, HL2, Farcry, System Shock, LBA ..................

Grim Fandango- They got the art deco 3D landscapes perfect.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: OoT was good but this was by far the best looking game for the N64.

Titanic: Adventure out of Time: 3D scenes made for this game are still used in Titanic documentaries. 'Nuff said.

Honestly the first game I remember ever being "wowed" by was a game on the NES of all things. It was a game called Master Blaster. Seriously, for an 8 bit system, the graphics were unbelievable. As far as more modern Titles go, dont think theres anything that hasn't been mentioned. All the usual suspects. Doom3, FEAR, Half Life 2, Supreme Commander yaddah yaddah...

Depends how far back you go.

Even fear is looking dated now.

Parts of far cry still look good. Some not.

Games that blew me away at the time.

    Psx

The first Tomb Raider psx. Amazing game.

    Resident Evil Psx.

    Gran turismo psx.

    On pc.

    Unreal (first one)

Farcry (running on my old geforce3 wow)

    Doom3

    Hmm, tough one really.

Streets of Rage (I remember first playing it and thinking.. "Wow..")
Aliens Vs Predator 2 (The atmosphere in that game was incredible)
    Planescape Torment (Beautifuly presented game)
Ocarina of Time (Probably the greatest game of all time!)

    I couldn't just put down three =p

Majora's Mask, back then the textures looked amazingly detailed, so much of a better game than Ocarina.
I'd like to say Test Drive Unlimited, full motion blur looks amazing, but some of the pop up spoils it.
