Hi guys, I have a little problem with my laptop. I have my GPU (GTS 250m) running at reference speeds, and when I ran Furmark with it, temps were high (95), but nothing I haven't experienced before. However, there is this weird issue. Sometimes, the display would this slideshow of colors that would never stop, no matter what I do. However, the system itself seems to be still running, as I have connectify creating a hotspot for my phone and my phone is still connected. I can't do anything, and have to hard reboot my computer. Is this an overheating issue?
Is it solid colors, or fading clouds of color? Not that it matters much in the long run, as the same part would have to be replaced either way, but solid colors usually indicate VRAM, while fading/shifting clouds of color are typically the GPU itself. I hope your laptop has an independent GPU, otherwise you'll be replacing the motherboard.
