Well I doubt about pushing the modding further, I'm not in the mood for this right now. It's such a tedious/long process and when I think of it I really don't want to go back to work on my v2.3.

By the way, have you tried to just rename the colorremap texture instead of changing the windycity.xml? It seems like the easier way.

The Watch_Dogs before the real downgrade. Shame on you, ubi.

This is found in the e-guide for watch_dogs, with many other screens captured using the same build.

And yes, it was a hackable object :(

For anyone who wants to create tonemaps personally, google LUTs, as in Lookup Tables.

    Watch_Dogs uses a 3D 32 LUTs cube.

I tried E3 Tonemap today. I really like how the sun bloom looks with it. But it messes up the Auto Exposure. It won't reduce brightness when the camera facing the sunny road/ground. Only if you look at the sky the exposure goes down. I tried different screen percentile values but it doesn't help. So I will stick with default tonemap.

Edit: Just tried with disabled tonemap and man it looks so good! Gonna disable it completely in E3 Lite v2.3!

This also explains in some of the old lighting presets we have a much darker tone than vanilla.

Wait, do you mean that the game without any tonemap looks better? Screeeeeenshot! :D

Well it's not night & day. I mainly like it because the sun bloom is not brownish anymore and the Auto Exposure is working as it should. With default tonemap I couldn't get rid of the brownish sun bloom even with completely white sunlight color in envlight.lib
Also without tonemap the sunlight in general makes the asphalt roads less brownish. I don't like how the asphalt looks in Vanilla under the sunlight, it's like it's covered in sand everywhere all the time. Without the tonemap it's more gray.

It sounds very cool! Especially the asphalt visual improvement! :) Can't wait to see it, and to play it! :D

The relaunch build was so good, especially at recreating the feel of a Windy City.

Yeah it's amazing. I wish they made a full remake on the old build with better story and epic gas station explosions.

Too bad it's not 2012 build, I wonder how the Pawnee looks there.
This one is a 2013 build and looks very similar to Vanilla. The only noticeable differences is the anamorphic lensflares, sky, fog and darker nighttime (all of it we now have in the mods).

Sometimes I feel that 2013 build was a release candidate aimed for ps4/xbone/pc

Because 2014 is doesn't make sense with all these cuts, it's like it was for old gen console but something went wrong during the producation and all copies utilized same build with different settings.
