    No offense but I'm wondering what's the point of this knowing that changing anything in the GamerProfile.xml doesn't make much of a difference in visuals... the switch from "console" to "pc" is mostly placebo iirc... Supersampling ? yes it does upgrade the visuals but some people (was it Bonkers ?) claimed that downsampling was better quality and more efficient

    And if you know what 'LOD' is then I guess you're the kind of person that will edit a .xml file by hand.

    But more options is always cool, why not

    Here's a video I made of how the game runs and looks for me now after doing some tweaking using this new tool...

    I'm getting this error when I try to run it.

    And here's the contents of the full error message.

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.
    For example:
    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>
    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    First thing. I'm on Win 8.1 update 1.
    Things I've tried to resolve this are, repair .net4 tool from MS, reinstall .net 4 but windows won't let me as I have it installed already, disable anti-virus and Malwarebytes, set it to run as admin, set it to run in win7 compatibility mode, allow it through my firewall. I can't think of anything else to try and fix it. I'm wondering if it's just a Win8.1 compatibility issue?

    UPDATE

    There's been an update since I've made this post. It seems to be working fine now. Thanks for sharing this tool with us Stone.

    Completely understood. But regardless , the fact of the matter is I've managed to get Watch Dogs running stutter free at 1920x1200 with everything maxed except for the texture setting in the display menu being set to HIGH and 2xTXAA, and on a 2gb GTX 680 which was stuttering like a rocks star. And ultimately... the use of this tool was part of the reason why Watch Dogs looks great and isn't unplayable like earlier.

    Really? Someone actually said that? Down-sampling is probably the least efficient method of removing/reducing aliasing, and is typically only used in games where proper anti-aliasing either is poorly implemented or doesn't work at all. Or when you're stuck with crap like FXAA, but I guess that falls under the category of "poorly implemented". lol.

    Yeah Downsampling is okay for removing AA, but I find when using D/S from 1440p to 1080 (my native) that either sweetfx's smaa or Control Panels x2 aa is still required. The performance hit is a little more than 4xaa in total, though I feel that the bump in rez gives the better result in general picture IQ, though but not as far AA removal goes.

    Depends on the game as you said.

    Ahh the beauty of C#, where you can write something like this with relative ease compared to C++/WIN32.

    Great work though.

    wait..............da fuq did i just read?

    edit: ok, you said efficient, not effective. i think it's common knowledge that ogssaa (downsampling) is leaps and bounds better than mssa, or the pseudo-aa implementations.

    ssgaa is even better but both require a lot of gpu power, so they aren't an option if you're looking more for performance over iq.

    i find the supersampling option in watch dogs to be very lack luster. i wouldn't use it.

    btw, does this actually have settings not found in-game that will improve the graphics?

    Too many people trying to access it and the Admins have had to disable the link temporally until traffic volume dies down.
