Are you using any AA?
So that GeForce.com tweak guide suggests Ultra settings and Temporal SMAA for a single GTX 780 then with HBAO+ High?
I will try that, especially now I've disabled the pagefile completely (which does improve performance significantly on maxed out settings with TXAAx4 but not enough to remove the horrid stuttering/hitching while driving at speed).
The article doesn't say what the suggest resolution is but I'm guessing at 1920x1080 (I'm using 1920x1200 so it is comparable).
Given the aggressive A.I. and the abundance of traffic, you *will* appreciate the cars being very hard to damage, particularly during some of the side missions where you have to drive a car from A to B while avoiding the police. The cars do eventually get damaged, start to smoke and then eventually catch fire and explode. It may be unrealistic but I'd hate to play this game with the damage modelling of, say, GTA V!
Only post process. FXAA/SMAA etc.. I know better than to test performance issues with MSAA.
the major diffrence is the phisics.. in the trailler you could see the wind taking out the leaves and trees.. the retail its just capped.
textures are good but the renderting system takes to much vram.. the game is amazing but the phisics cap was a huge downgrade.
Here you go. I'm using the 337.88 driver and my FPS is much better with this driver compared to what I was getting with 337.81
Good to see performance has been improved even compared to the leaked drivers.
I tested a few games (AC4/AC3/Far Cry 3/Tomb Raider) and saw little to no gains compared to the 337.50.
shadows flickering after playing 20-30mins with 337.88 driver
edit: find out what was causing it, it was gpu framebuffer to 5, has nothing to do with driver
Look closely and you'll see what I mean. There is a comparasion between explosions.
Anyone here tried running it on an AMD 5850?
im running on HD6750 and 900p 30fps lock everything low
For all games to get maximum responsiveness:
framebuffer or max pre-rendered frames.. set it to 1 for minimum input lag. also limit your fps to your refresh rate and of course use vsync with triple buffered.
Someone made a comparison of the explosions compared to 2012.
After driving around like an a-hole in GTA IV at max speeds for years and years with max traffic, driving around Watch Dogs is childs play..
so iam sure iam not the first one to figure this out, but indeed the cause for the stuttering at least for me was the gpu vram reaching its limit.
ive set out to find the highest settings in which i can drive at full speed at the crowded areas of the city and stay at constant 30fps,after messing around quite alot with the settings the max ive been able to get to with no drops is:
all max in grapichs quality menu
antialiasing: temporal smaa
using the latest nvidia driver 337.88
hopefully this helps someone with a similar setup =P
sorry for my english, its not my main langauge.
Nah, my friends 6gb Titan Black is getting horrible stuttering and low fps.
Nah, I've been following GTA V PC for several months now. There are developer log files which detailed it's development and plenty of other evidences. Go to the official gta forums, a couple long time users on there have connections to rockstar and they've "leaked" some information recently. Apparently, it's coming very soon.
Anyways, that's enough GTA talk for me.
It's not really anything like GTA, don't know where those comparisons are coming from. I suppose people are saying this because it's an open world game and you can steal cars? Those are about the only similarities.
That's what I meant, thank you. And as you can see, it's a downgrade not only on explosions. Some are the same, but nothing better. So many years in development so in the end we can have... less ?
So does this still hold true?
