Maybe Ubisoft can delay it another year and by then it will actually be ready to run like normal PC games with High Res texture packs run.

Even Skyrim with a massive amount of mods and HD textures runs more efficiently.

My buds have already received their game. :(
I got to play it on a SLI Titan Black and I have to say Infamous SS on PS4 spanks this game even maxed out.

Average quality assets accross the board, the water is the only truly impressive feature of the game.

I see people going on about the water being amazing, and the screens from neogaf look amazing, but even with mine maxed out, the water looks like any other games water, few ripples, but stand back and you can see the patchwork repetitive pattern of the texture

Mine doesn't look anything like the screens

Heh, although Skidrow never made a release of this game.
(There's a fake website claiming to be them but I guess the average downloader will just take the first available version without checking too carefully.)

    Delicious.

Best water I've seen in a game by far. Infamous SS remains IMO the best looking open world game regardless of platforms.

Yea I have, as I said "Maxed out" it still looks nothing like the screens

    Those screens are downsampled though

Downsampling isn't supposed to make the water look any better. Maybe as Jonas suggested this is a LOD thing.

It's just a guess but that seemed likely to me with how the first image has the water at a distance and you have a mostly flat surface with repetitive tiling and then up close it's fully dynamic even using deformation to simulate water as a fluid, I'd check but I won't have the game until Tuesday, Monday afternoon at the earliest.
(Or how to say, like the system in Crysis 1 back in 2006 though here it's a different method, perhaps using DX11 since the game requires that and a 64-bit OS.)

EDIT: LOD landscape isn't that bad though aside from the very flat "end of the world" terrain right at the edge there, nice to see some non-city environments as well.

Try 337.82 instead, 337.81 has some weird stuttering issues in general with older games.

Both 337.61 & 337.82 are much much smoother.

What's with those 337.82 drivers anyway? Icafe?

Been hesitant to install those as the method to get them installed isn't a typical means to install drivers..

Yea I get the same look from the distance shot, but close up it looks nothing like that, I`ll take a few screens next time I play, it doesn't have the depth of the waves/ripples - its much flatter

Nothing, they're normal drivers like anything else, with extra smoothness vs 337.50 or 337.81..

The only thing different is, instead of that nvidia update its now using icafeupdater, no big deal just delete that when you extract the driver..
I dont use this nvidia update crap anyway, its bugged most of the time.

Gotcha.. Yeah they installed easy. I saw others doing weird methods.. Deleting that folder let the installer do all the work.

Made no difference for me as far as the stuttering goes. Was worth a shot though.

I've been joking that I'll only be able to run it on Low settings. Seems a friend at another forum who's getting the game got annoyed with me.
Kept telling me that Ubisoft optimized it better then that, and it'll perform better... :)

I wish there was a way to disable the dumb blinking/highlighting of hackable objects.. It's really annoying driving around and seeing a bridge, train etc get outlined in white and blinking.. The label is fine enough. If gamers don't know a bridge is a bridge, or a train is a train just by the name and line drawn to it they shouldn't be playing video games.
