Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II

Very much unlike Supreme Commander. Which is still the best overall RTS I've ever played.

 

LOl u take it serious for a game. well so from now on i call this game is RTT..good? sounds good to me. if i even call this a FPS , no problem. Awesome game. but ur point seems fair. dont get me wrong.

 

i think the single player is as good if not better than company of heroes. not finished the single player yet...taking my time killing every last monster.

the diff between strategy and tactics argument is very pedantic and i'd say there are both in the game.

def recommended to all. i'd like to play as the orcs/eldar in single player campaign but so far think its just space marines unless somethings unlocked on completion..

 

I think thats what these games are starting to get called, Dawn of War II, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Ground Control, Ground Control 2.

 

In a way i suppose but DoWII doesn't have you moving or planning large anythings.

 

I'm absolutely loving the SP campaign... though traveling between worlds so frequently doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the fluff, it's still awesome. Of course there's the added bit of "if you dont play Warhammer this is what a Tyranid is" sorta stuff but that's ok. Good that they added it so people who don't really know what Warhammer is can understand a bit more.

Sadly they dont explain how Space Marines are 7 foot tall super humans with 3 lungs, 2 hearts, acidic saliva and all sorts of other genetic enhancements. Oh well, can't have it all, can we

 

Im really enjoying this to be fair, only on day 10 but done some missions and getting some good war gear now for upgrading, just want the dreadnaught lol

 

hehe hes great...feel bad for not using thaddeus hes actually quite mean in close quarters but cant have everything.

 

I just played some co-op with my buddy and I must say it is implemented very well and enhances the experience quite a bit! I suggest everyone gives it a shot

 

there not to bad, but tyranids just swarm so i want the dreadnought for ranged and close qaurters combat.

 

Read the 'Introduction' in the Game Manual if you bought the game box! Not gonna type it all because I can't be arsed but here is a snippet:

OMFG! iam gonna kill myself..iam in a round for 1,5 hours and wanted to take a rest and pressed F10 aka MENU key and game paused(i know i can do Pause via PAUSE key on kb). then i turned back to game and pressed F10, game started and BAM! Crash To Desktop (CTD). WTFFFFFF.WTFF..iam gonna kill myself..i was progressing final task..OMFG! Why no SAVE option??Why-O-Why! :...(

 

Like i said before this game will be 1 of the big three this year.
StarCraft2....Soviet Assault.....DOW2!!!!!!!

 

no save option to let them say that their game is more then 6 hours lol

 

I mean they dont explain the details of their modifications

 

Did they canceled the D3D10 support for this game?

 

ya but as a better altunative u can play tyranids

 

That's the reason I never will and never did buy any games that runs on steam, FORCES you to register/validate/activate your "product" via steam just to even play the damn thing I payed for.

So much respect to the creators of old games like UT GOTY, Rogue Spear, Soldier Of Fortune and thousands of other developers that aren't as dictatorial and care about the customer, F--- steam and developers that are for it.

Well, game still rcks..even on normal difficulty i have hard times if i just try to RUN and gun..nearly impossible to progress if u just rush....

i also purchased the first game..they r differnet than this right? My DL was complete before coming to office so couldnt game

 

This game skirmich mode is abit complicated for me after supreme commander ager of empires and CNC but graphics are amazing :banana:
