Vista SP2 beta

Would anyone foolhardy enough to install the Vista SP2 Beta please report if it improves or destroys nividia graphics?

Ive been in the official beta since it started with zero problems.

 

Cybermancer, Thanks for the information. Getting native blu-ray burning will be great. In my opinion, the native dvd burning with vista ultimate is very helpful.

I uninstalled windows 4.0 search. that thing was of zero help to me.

Cybermancer, it took some squinting with these bad eyes to find the rss feed on the guru3d home page. Now I have it and can stay better informed.

 

No worries. It's a legitimate question, although I was close to moving it into the OS section of Guru3D. Since it could theoretically (both positively or negatively) influence our GPU's performance, though, I let it be. At least for now.

Here is a simple hack I guess you could call it. It is a batch file that lets you download the beta through windows update.

I tried it and it hasn't shown the beta in update yet. But, people have confirmed it works.

 

it only show the pre-beta update .. not the final beta ...

 

SP is out at technet for the public

 

what is the build string for technet/msdn subscriber beta? microsoft haven't mentioned it in either technet or msdn vista forums last i had a look.

Its same build 16497 some of us have been using for the past 5-6 weeks, build date 10/17/08 (v.113 in version string).

 

I installed it and it works great it's v.113

 

everything is runing smooth for beta v.113 sp2. havent had single Display Driver stopped responding pop ups.

as for games, I will play some & get back to you.

 

are there any benchmarks comparing sp1 to sp2?

 

any issues with either thunderbird or fire fox ? i'm diving in and downloading now ,
