I couldnt get my soundcard to work with RC1, no matter what I tried (disabling the driver signing protection BS, installing x64 drivers before Vista ones), so I just formatted and installed x64 (free 6 month trial woot!) and everything is fantastic. With RC1 it forced me to use my onboard sound and no 5.1 Surround too, it was very sad . If anyone has an Audigy and tries RC2 please post your results.

I'm in there now; although, I tried installing the interim after 5600 and it will not install...just keeps rebooting!:bang: BTW: you guys (and gals) have to download these right away as MS removes them very quickly and they've said that this is the last public build.
Vista RC2 works with 7950 GX2 I also got finally my 7950 GX2 to install with Vista x64 RC2. It gets a score of 5.9, BTW, for whatever that's worth. The nVidia video driver version is 96.77 and there is no nVidia control panel, only the built-in Vista display settings applet.
I loaded RC1 (5600) onto my Athlon XP 2800, only 512 MB ram, Radeon 9800 Pro, no problems.... downloading the new build now...
Using and running Vista RC2 right now, looks pretty good, no issues so far, although I wish Nvidia would release some new vista drivers. :| Runs decently on my system for the most part. I'm rather pleased with the way it's come along, the last time I played around with vista was beta 1, and it's come a long way since then.
Nope. The beta Vista x64 drivers on the Creative website won't install and the Win XP x64 drivers install in Vista x64, but there's no sound.
I'm running the RC2 right now and it works pretty good. Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% work perfectly. The only problem I'm getting is with Counter-Strike: Source. I really need some nVidia drivers. I should be getting 300 fps locked. But I'm only getting 100~120 fps and with some glitches on the screen. Anyone knows when there will be some drivers for RC2?
I have a few questions about RC2 x64 Does battlefield 2 still drop in FPS about every 40 seconds? How are the nvidia drivers that come with RC2? Are they good for gaming? do they have problems on dual monitors, because I know the 96.33 did.
Yes. I just finished a fresh install of Vista 5744 x64 and tried the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004 Windows x64 drivers and I get 2.1 sound on my Audigy 4. (That is all I have anyway.) I started the computer with the F8 option to disable driver checking before I ran the installation and it would only install the drivers and the Audio Console but at least I have sound. I don't need to use the F8 option on boot anymore for the sound to work. (Note: If you have already tried to install the beta Vista drivers, you will have to remove all traces of that install from your computer for the x64 installation to work.)
uuh..... if i remember this correctly.... from looking at the Connect website.... isn't 5744 still technically a post-RC1 build, not RC2 yet?
