I can't say for sure but when i use those settings you mentioned web pages seems to load slower for some reason. My download speed is the same but it seem to take longer for pages to start loading. Not sure which of the settings is to blame as i haven't really narrowed it down. It's probably not the autotuninglevel as that is just the receive window size. Then again i might just be imagining it, i didn't do a real speed test of page loads.
Thanks for the link for the dual booting guide. Some questions here if you dont mind answering them. I've got an xp partition already with space left aside for a vista partition. Now I assume I can just install vista onto the empty space (after turning into a useable partition)? So by doing this I dont need to use the other tools, correct? And also if I can I assume as in the guide vista will be controlling what os I boot up, so my next question is will windows Vista 64 bit boot alongside windows xp 32 bit successfully? Thanks again.
1. yes. 2. If the partition is seperate you are fine. Vista will probably want to work it over when you install it for the latest NTFS version. 3. the Vista boot loader will take over the NT boot loader and you will see Previous Version of Windows Microsoft Windows Vista the "previous" menu option loads the old NT boot loader so you choose from the legacy OS's (XP, 2k, etc)
you know how if you open explorer and have a load of video files in, windows starts to play them in a sort of video thumbnail thing. How do yuo get it to work properly? I cant seem to get it to work and i have tried the folder options configuration too.
Hmm well there is Live Icons and then there is the Preview Pane, but i can't remember the contents being played in the icons just that it display a thumbnail image of the actual contents. But then this is the type of feature i would remove and never use so i can't say i really remember.
