I remeber few years ago they tried this and guy that proposed got castrated in public, this name were left out purposely?

Where is the tax on explicit music albums or abundant of P13 movies that glorify violence death and blood? or abundant TV shows that similarly rated?

ESRB work fine when said people ( parents) dont buy those game for those kids in first place? or actual took interested in there kid and pay attention to them before it was to late? Most people that had kid should in first place cause, cause there still kids them self

What you thought on all this being proposed again.

Apparently you can buy guns, open carry guns, alcohol, cigarettes, pr0n, and violent movies / videos without a license or permit (except for the city of Philadelphia) but once Gamer Nerds get a hard on with a FPS action game, they try to curb it with TAXES...

Sounds like they are mixing up common sense and Communism...

As President Trump said, time to build a wall around those sh*t-hole country / cities... /s

Taxes don't have to make sense. They're taxes.

Well, reasons like "may have contributed to violence"...
All that can do that... Just tax bees flying around, they can be pretty annoying right? And annoyed people are more likely to be violent.
Or ban trees or wind because noise from leaves in wind can trigger someone.
Or put extra tax on anything some idiotic state representative buys because he is surely annoying tens of thousands of people and contributing to violence more than any game can.
What about taxing shoes which make clicking sounds while walking? That can cause violence too.
Ban red traffic lights as they can trigger a lot of people.

Or you know what? Put extra tax on having children, they surely are cause of violence... no children, no violence.

Just want to point something out, this is not a political debate and it will not turn into one. Please do not bring that or any bigot thoughts into this or any other topic here.

I'd pay more tax for games, so long as women pay more tax on shoes - it's that ridiculous.

I left out the /S at the end. Was using the analogy of ridiculousness of my example to frame the context of the subject. No hate or bias towards anyone and duly noted.

As a woman in New Jersey USA there is no tax on shoes. Else I'll be marching in the street.

    Incel?

Edit: actually in my opinion consumption taxes are regressive taxes, with an inordinate burden on the poor, of which I have been one. That said, I am fond of, for example, alcohol but I don't mind a tax on it. Nor would I mind a tax on computer games. My state pension has to be funded somehow.

But don't tax food and clothing.

Those evil video games, they made me do it. Meanwhile, there's a sale on AR-15's at Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania. We wouldn't want to legislate any weaponry out of reach (from anyone) but video games? Sin tax.

What a joke this Nation is. We clearly find shootings to be an acceptable part of life here in America since we refuse to have an actual discussion about it. The gun lobby in this Nation uses fear to sell more guns. It's appalling.

How about we ban our governments and politicians from exploiting their monopoly on violence by which they go to war and actually kill people?

    Just another attempted money grab.

They will not even use the money for the stated purpose. Remember the Social Security Fund?
