Video Editing Software

Hey everyone, my gf and I have decided to start a YouTube channel and the part I am most excited about is that I get to learn how to edit videos haha. I know there is a ton of free software out there, but would it be worth it in the long run to pay for some good software? VEGAS Pro 15 is on sale until today for $200, good deal or is there a better program out there? I would love to learn how to use a program like this, not just for YouTube, but for whatever else I wanted.

Kdenlive is free and has a ton of features...

 

Seems like a deal. Not a lot of time to decide though.
IMO Vegas is ok. I was already familiar with Acid and Sound Forge, so it was easy to learn. That was a long time ago.
I've been using Lightworks for the occasional video lately.
Some people might say Adobe Premiere Pro is better.

I have used Vegas Pro for few projects, but I mostly use HitFilm, Davinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere CC or Pro,have used or rather still using Final Cut X

Which is best, Adobe is good but still I prefer HitFilm with Davinci Resolve

I always felt like Kdenlive was an incomplete suite, but as of 20.04 everything just works.

 

Just donate to KDE project, and will get even better.

 

Davinci Resolve.
