ATI or Nividia, doesn't really matter. Going to replace an integrated HD4200 and I need something cheap and good for gaming at 1024 x 768. Crysis, Fallen Earth, Fallout 3( with mods, expect 100+ computer bots on screen if it makes a difference) Oblivion, ect, hopefully at min 20 fps at high settings, no AA Windows 7 Ultimite 64 bit 4 GB of DDR3 1333 1.65V 530W PSU Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO This is probably my 6th post about graphics cards, to many opinions from different people, links to products suggested would be great also.
depends on your location. At the Micro Center near here they always have good sales. You can find 9800GT's, 4770's for $99 and 9600GT's, 4670's for $88 or less. The fastest one out of the bunch I posted is the 4770. If you are ordering online, get an ATI 4850 typically found for $99.
Sapphire 4850 512MB DDR3 $94 and free shipping http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824 XFX 4770 512MB DDR5 $104 and free shipping http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150369 The 4850 and 4770 are roughly the same speed, but the 4770 should overclock much higher.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134095 I saw this while browsing NewEgg earlier, GTS250 (9800GTX) for $90 and you also get Rainbow Six Vegas 2 ! lol, only flaw is it has one DVI and one VGA (if that really matters).
i'd say that's the card to get in your price range. the 4850 and gts 250 are roughly equivalent, and that's a good non-reference card. you can probably oc it fairly well, much more so than a 4850 at least.
I've actually been looking into the SAPPHIRE HD 5670 (Redwood) 512MB 128-bit DDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102870 The HIS 1GB version of this runs Crysis at max settings on 1680 x 1050 at 24 fps average, which is a higher resolution than I will be playing at so fps should be more for me at 1024 x 768. 3D Game Man video about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-CiD3Xqp5M&feature=related
naa 5670 sucks, the 4770 beats the hell out of it.. oh, and 4850>4770 by 15-20% get an ATI 4850, and u have integrated HD 4200, use it in Hybrid Crossfire X with ur 4850, and get kickass performance, maybe even beating a GTX 260/4870... Chack if ur Mobo supports Hybrid Crossfire X, as that is the best cost effective solution.. BTW, it probably will...
Sorry, but thats wrong. Hybrid crossfire is only for the ATI 3450,3470 and such. Its outdated technology still being advertised. AMD needs to update this as the HD4200 is the same as the 3300/3200 IGP. Even the new HD 4290 is the same design, but just faster onboard GPU clock speed.
Lol! I actually own a MSI 5670-and I can tell you its a great card.I run Crysis at 1280x1024 with no AA and get 34 fps.The card is runs very cool(higher overclocks!)and doesnt need a external power connector.
