Let's stop and think about this for a moment. Realistically, if you're going to get a video card with the intent of gaming, and you have a monitor that supports 1920x1080, are you going to look at benchmarks that is going to put you below your monitor's native resolution when you're already getting 45+ frames per second in most games? If we were to count every single game at every single tested resolution, the average difference in FPS lowers to 4.27 frames per second. I don't understand why you're so adamant about defending the HD6950. Did I say something to upset you? Edit: Also, do yourself a favor and clean your glasses You're the one that's trippin, bro. Notice how the light blue bar represents the GTX560?
Sure, you want to use a high res lets do that then; ________________________________________________ Skyrim @1920x1200; the 6950 beats the 560 by 20fps Batman Arkaham City @1920x1200; the 560 trails by 14fps Shogun 2 @1920x1200; again the 560 trails, this time by 11fps Portal 2 @1920x1200, surprise the 560 loses yet again by 7fps Metro 2033 @1920x1200 the 560 is behind again by 9fps __________________________________________________ ^Can you see the pattern that's developing here? I'm not defending anything. Tbh I don't care which is faster, only pointing out the facts. Sure, I may be an arrogant prick at times, but a fanboi is one thing I am not. Really those results should speak for themselves, if you choose to look at them with blinders on then nothing I say is gonna change your mind. OK I'll give you that, but it's still only one result and doesn't affect the overall picture...
The only point I enforced is that the GTX560 is, on average, ~6 fps slower than the HD6950. Benchmarks were provided to prove the point. Need we beat a dead horse over it?
It doesn't matter what the average is, it's not a real number. The actual min fps is what counts. Example; two guys beside each other playing Skyrim with a 560 and a 6950. Do you think the one getting 45fps with the 560 looks at his mate and thinks "well my mates 6950 is getting 20fps more than my 560 but it's OK cuz if you average it out over 10 games it's only 6fps". Of course not. He says "fuk this sucks I'm stuck at 45fps while my friend is cruising at 66fps, I wish I had his card so I could play Skyrim without all the lag".... Another thing is that 6fps may not seem like much, but at less than 60fps it's a lot, all the difference between a good gaming session and a bad one... To draw a comparison, fps is like air; people don't give it much thought while they have enough, the only time they care is when they aren't getting any.
Without factual evidence and numbers that can be proven, the only thing you're doing is speculating. You have no way of knowing which of the two cards have the better minimum FPS unless you're looking at the results. Edit - To prove the point, look at the AnandTech link. Referencing off of the Dirt 3 1920x1200 benchmark. The HD6950 was 2 FPS faster than the GTX560. However, the GTX560 had a better minimum frame rate.
wow still comparing a plain 560 to a 6950? the 6950 is faster. the 560 is basically just an oc 460 and a 460 is still slower oc even. lulz. you wanna compare a 6950 to a 560 ti. they are pretty much on par as long as the 560 ti does not run out of vram. the 560 ti runs out of vram it falls behind a 6950. geez
Oh my God you cannot be serious. Your example shows only a 2fps difference in both the min and avg fps for chrissake. It may as well be nothing. Are you trying to convince me that a 6950 with avg 66fps could somehow have a lower min fps than a 560 averaging 45fps? With a 20fps difference between the two cards? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL you a funny guy. Try harder... Also, the Skyrim example was real, taken from the 1920x1200 Skyrim test so no, I'm not speculating.
No one said otherwise. Right, because the example of Skyrim will hold true for every single game in existence, right? Or is it that you play Skyrim and only Skyrim? Besides, what does this have to do with anything? Yes, there are tests where a HD6950 is faster than the GTX560. No one is denying this fact. It would be nice if you stopped treating the debate as a personal attack. All that I said is that the GTX560 is nearly as fast as a HD6950 in most games, which is a fact. As such, it's going to be the best purchase for the OP since the GTX560 is within his price range.
If that's what you think, then you read too far into what I was trying to say and applied your personal perspective on the comment when you really shouldn't have.
Hey buddy - get back in line. lmao I saw wat u did there Well I do take it personally because I feel that you're insulting my intelligence. But I digress...
