Hello. What is the difference between viaide.sys and viaidexp.sys.

One is installed by WIN XP SP2 as the 2180 build ver 1.00.01.01
    via technologies copyright 2000.

And the latter is under the build version 2600.120 and is copyright via technologies 2000-2005.

However viaidexp.sys is not detected as being a superior driver for the motherboard by windows so it just keeps the built in ones apon hyperion 4.51 4.53 4.55 4.56 installation.

Ah but theres more, after completing the installation of these drivers, one has the ability to manually install viaidexp.sys with no rejection whatsoever on behalf of the pc.

So based on supreme testemony, we I beleive can come to a conclusion as to weither these drivers do anything at all better than M$ ones.

    Thankyou

Via ide 4.56 and 4.55 versions will not install becoz the installer detects windows xp

it installs only what it detects as needed

    heres a tip

run it in windows 2000 compatibility mode

    and all drivers will install

    :)
