I live in a major metropolitan city. You may find it odd that I can not find utility service to get traditional corded land line phone service. I have a rotary dial 1982 phone and I just want standard phone service... I’m not a nut. I think it’s fun, vintage, and privately useful. If anyone knows a way to get this active without any form of Digital BS, please let me know:)

Most companies aren't servicing the old phone lines anymore and just letting them eventually die. Especially in big cities.

I have the Ooma service. The initial set up was $100 for the box and activation and after that your monthly bill is only the taxes so I pay about $4-5 a month. Still uses your internet connection but you aren't going to find many other options these days.

Last time I checked AT&T still offered the service, but that was years ago.
