2017 Chevy Cruze LT
Hey vbetts, thanks for supporting my place of work
Almost time to put the vette away for the year though
Nice, but why did you trade in your Focus for it? Let me guess, it kept eating transmissions? Lmao.
5 Replaced clutch plates later....
Tell you, that dual clutch transmission is great when it works. But when it starts to have issues, it just is too much to deal with. Didn't want to anymore. And the Mazda needed a new seal for the transmission, which for that car was minimum $2400 to take the engine out, replace the seal, and reprogram the computer and then if there was any damage to the gears, another $1200 minimum for the same things except changing the gear plates out, and then reprograming the computer again lol.
I didn't like how GM cars drove before, but this feels smooth and not so tight like how the ones I drove did before. I also hated the first gen Cruze models, they were ugly and small. This new one though, damn. It's purdy and it's got a lot of room! A lot more than the Focus.
I figured, the automatic Focus is notorious for that. Ford should really have just done a recall instead of letting this get as out of hand as it has. That's surprising the Mazda lost (I assume) a torque converter seal or something similar. Not a common failure these days.
The Cruze you're driving is the result of GM getting serious with its overseas offerings, so it should be fairly reliable for you. The styling is also pretty eye catching. I haven't seen many of those on the road yet.
I've always thought the diesel manual trans Cruze would be an interesting drive...
Saw they had a diesel Cruze available, but they didn't have any at the dealership at the time...Kind of wanted to try it out.
Yeah they definitely exist. I was talking to a tech that had one and he said he enjoyed it. I bet they don't just make them though... probably very few people want the M/T let alone the diesel, lol.
They get crazy MPG though. I think 50 on the highway?
I've gotten up to 46 on the highway so far with my Cruze with the 1.4l T Ecotech engine.
Also since we were on the topic of it before, bikes versus cars in speed here just happens to be a video of a Suzuki SV650 racing an 05 Corvette.
The SV650 is considered an intermediate standard bike, it's a v-twin 650cc motor pushing about 60HP with 35lbft I believe? With an aftermarket exhaust and if it's one with an ECU onboard you can tune it to gain about maybe 5 HP or so, but acceleration it does better than the Corvette but top speed the Corvette will easily destroy it. For the acceleration mind you, this is a intermediate bike. Not a sport, racing, or super sport bike like the GSXR600 which is a full inline v4 600cc motor pushing 110hp or so with 80lbft. That's very easy to raise on a GSXR as well.
British import - 2017 Jaguar XE. Was thinking about getting the F-Type but 2-door coupes are no longer in the market for me.
Wish I didn't have to put on the front license plate but it is the law here...
new 18 inch 8.5 by 9.5 rims
I found one thing I dislike about my car, and GM's in general.
My girlfriend has a first gen Cruze, and she left her lights on. The battery died in it. Well, the battery is in the trunk with the spare tire!!! It is in my car too!
I think you just need a 'vette. It's under the hood for me
While I agree with this, my wallet doesn't lmao!
latest rim installation, 18 inch 8.5 front by 9.5 rear
Rims look good! Clean setup. I like the coloring in the grille.
