When I bought the GTR 2+ years ago, used, I paid ~$65k, with a hair over 1000 miles on the clock (still reeked of new car smell).
At the time the cheapest Evora I could find was ~$75k.
And at the time, the cheapest Exige SC was $85k.

    But, times have changed.

New GTR pricing is up, used GTR pricing hasn't budged.
Used Evora availability is up and pricing is down.

Would you ever buy a Gen 2 Viper if you could get one with low mileage at a good price? Those cars are raw as hell, and not cheap like the Gen 3.

    Probably not.
But not because of the car.
Vipers are hella nice. Probably the best major-manufacturer-made FR car out there.
If prices were the same, I'd buy a viper over a z06/zr1 hands down. Not even a second thought.

I'm just at a stage in life where I'd sooner buy an FFR cobra, or an SL-C Coupe.
Or just build something of my own.

And for some reason, the s2000 always comes to mind.
It's a good little car, cheap to buy, cheap to mod, and cheap to crash.
It would make a great stepping-stone for getting to be a good track driver. Being able to push it harder without the bills associated with more expensive cars.

Have you tuned the carbs yet?

And nothing wrong with Volvos, they are all being snapped up by drifters now!

    @Morbias,

I got the manifold from bogg bros UK and they told me the baseline settings for those carbs on a 2 liter.
When I got it running the float bowl gaskets were pouring gas all over my exhaust, so I ran some sealant on there to get a test drive last weekend.
Since then I've removed the carbs and cleaned off the sealer so I have not had a chance to do much tuning. New gaskets arriving today!

All I did was up the main jets, set the idle mix, sync the carbs and set the idle and its smooth down at 700rpm with my 490/281 cam. With the old weber it would barely idle under 1000rpm.

It pulls great at the top, but it still needs a bit of tuning. For just being setup from a bike it runs great. I was very surprised how well it ran.
Throttle response is truly awesome, instant torque.
Oh and the sweet induction noise... nothing like it.

Goddamn guys... :D these pics and talk about buying a car meh. I just want to finish up my school get to work and buy a new car. I like driving my C4 it's awesome for everyday driving and what not but I want something for track and erm fun times. I enjoyed the hell out of my brothers S13 180SX(named 200SX here) when he had it had bit more boost so it was producing somewhat over 230hp back then had the SR20DET engine.

Perhaps less so the FWD V40 ;)

The GTR is a nice looking car, but it's HUGE! I see one fairly regularly - it's just collosal.

Impressive looking thing, but yeah. Very big.

I'd probably go for the Evora for that reason - might be a bit less scary to drive fast on a twisty B-road due to being a bit daintier...

Concerned/Scared, is exactly what I'd be, flogging an Evora :p

Tail heavy cars [like the Evora] don't forgive mistakes.
With nannies off, I wouldn't relax without a lot of run-off space.

What did you do for the throttle linkage? Are you going to use a wideband afr gauge for tuning?

oops, thought it was a v90!

Got my front wheels at last, they appear to be a slightly different shade to the rear ones, hopefully won't be that noticable when on the car.

    Same size front/rear?

Just put one color on left, and other on right. No one will have a chance to see both colors at the same time.

I replaced the front rotors, calipers, pads, and bearings last weekend on the Continental.

Buying a rotor with preloaded bearing races makes the job much much easier if you don't have a press. The first time I did it, it took so long as they were damn hard to get out of there. I also bought a neat little bearing packer. Didn't get a drop of grease on my fingers. Once it's loaded, it literally takes about 20 seconds to pack the bearing.

Now I need to replace the rear calipers and hoses, re-position proportioning valve, and rebleed. Then replace the turn signal switch (< $$$!).

I'm using a cable for the throttle... guys I got the mani from sell a universal fit cable. Combined it with the lokar kit I was running on my weber and it works fine.

AFR gauge? I wish. I'm just tuning by ear and right foot. Works well enough for a street tune, I wan to save and get wideband AFR gauges for both of my cars.

Those rota RKR ?? They look really nice.
