My pride and joy which iv had for almost 3 years now
X71 4lug cressi but those look just like late model X83 5lug rims ?
really clean bmw @napster
the pics don't do it justice. i saw a lot of them when I was in singapore last dec, and they are much nicer in person!
meh, I thought they were nice when they first came out, but I'm not sure now, the more angles I see them from the more they remind of a bird with a really fat ar$e.
My E39 528i
As much as I wish it were a 5 lug conversion it's not . It's just the factory X73 4 lug rims sprayed black
I've never seen those X73 factory rims. They look just like my X83's stockers. (except being sprayed black)
By baby winterized... waiting for summer.
Here is my "new" car =)
Finally, the snow has gone and the temperature is up a little bit. It was so damn cold in the garage last week I decided that half a bottle of Southern Comfort would be a good idea; it turns out that being half-cut and using power tools is actually a bad idea, especially when you can't even feel your fingers. Who knew? I ended up dropping an angle grinder on my thumb and painting the floor red. Luckily it wasn't too bad and I was too pissed/cold to feel any pain anyway. Alcohol: both the problem and the solution.
Slow progress on the inner sill, everything below the holes was cut out and replaced with pieces I made with c-clamps, bits of wood and a really big hammer. My hammer is my swiss army knife. It is the be-all and end-all, the alpha and omega. All glory to the hammer. If Macgyver was packing a hammer he would have used it in every single episode.
Also made some new framerails today:
I hear my new engine is almost finished too, I have some ZG flares to fit over my wide wheels arriving in the next few days too, yay!
wtf is a ZG flare
Excellent choice, you'll love it
Had mine about year and half now, still going great.
we're not allowed to post porn :|...
UnnnnhhhH!!! What specs on those wide wheels?!
Your project looks awesome!
I'm probably going to be dropping 15x10 steelies on my ZX... No flares though.
That Datsun is the bomb mate!
Not sure on those wheels or whose car it is, found the image on google. They look like rs watanabes but then they also look like 17x10 and I don't think you can get wats in that size. That car looks so good in that colour!
What sort of offset and tyre cross section will you have to run to tuck the tyres under your arches?
Not a lot if he does the stretched hella-flush thing.
But if he goes beefy, then I predict a massively positive number...
The kind that would polish your suspension arms/rods/links/whatever.
Oh I meant what wheels are you putting on your car?
Those are RS Watanabe and look like they where custom ordered straight from Watanabe. I think those are 16's or 15's. 17's look massive on an S30.
On a ZX? They've got even more room than a S30. 15x10 -10 or so should fill out the rear with stock fender / rolled lip and a mild stretch on the tire.
I still have to measure everything and find the correct size for my desired setup. I may end up with 15x8 or 15x9 depending. Its going to have a bit of boso influence in the styling, yet keeping practicality and comfort.
I'm hoping to get an exhaust shop to make me up some polished victory pipes out the back.
Oh and some pic of my 510 from a local meet;
Are you sure they're not 17s in that pic? They look pretty big! Now you mention it they do look like they might be 16s.
These are 17x9.5 RBX; my car is also going to be white so should end up looking pretty much like this one, but with fender bullet mirrors (and 260z rear lights of course!):
I'm going with 17x9.5 -20 RKRs on the back and 17x8.5 -10 on the front
I've seen 9J -13 wheels on an S130 and it was a pretty tight fit on the rear, can't remember which tyres now though.
Hey, don't park out in the rain when you get your new boso pipes
I love 510s, it's a shame there are hardly any over here in the UK. I would really love a 240K though; short of importing one from Australia that just ain't gonna happen.
They might be 17's, maybe just the angle.
Thats going to look great, 17's do look good on a Z with the right setup I just think the oldschool small wheel looks better.
Maybe S130 and S30 are more similar then I thought. As I said I still have to measure everything and choose the correct specs for the wheels.
I was thinking of the rain issue with boso pipes, The solution is to slant the ends of the pipes so that rain cannot get in, then a small hole at the bottom in case any water does get in.
Yeah, I think 16s are the perfect size for the S30 but getting the right size for ZGs costs big money as the choice is limited. 15s are easier and cheaper to come by but the tyre availability for wide 15 and 16 inch wheels sucks (which I'm sure you already know!), decided on the 17s in case I end up doing a brake upgrade at some point.
like this? :
