Exactly :) there was a sort of domino effect that happened... it was only meant to be a quick tidy-up and minor maintenance job. I'm not exactly sure where the point of no return was but it was a long time ago; I'm now living off of baked beans and toast because I'm skint and in the garage pretty much every waking hour when I'm not at work. I'm only at my computer now because my cordless drill battery ran out and I needed to feed the cat.

This is how it looked when I started, not too shabby looking to be honest. Until I started taking it apart.

Not sure what I'll do when the car is finished and I have all that spare time and money.

    Maybe I'll buy another one.

Giving the c900 some love over the winter.

New seals, bearings, chain/guides etc. Also swapping a 2.3 head off a 9000 Carlsson onto it for a bit more flow.

Running this for the winter instead. Fresh as a daisy at 234k.

Really missing the c900 now though. The 9000 is nice, but isn't even close to being as nice to drive.

Still - the roads are salty at the moment. The last thing this car needs...

I always liked the Prelude version the most :

I still see them and kinda wish I had one...
IMO, timeless lines on that thing.

If they had them in RWD, I would have picked one as a cheaper autocross toy.

Yup, both are pretty awesome cars!
I'd take the Integra Type-R over the Prelude Type-S anytime, though.

Integra's are lighter and have a stronger aftermarket following than the preludes do. I need to post some picks of my 89 CR-X Si/SiR. I'll do it when I get home it's a pain in the a** on my phone.

I completely forgot about this thread. I recently upgraded from a 97 Prelude to a 09 Legacy. No, It's not a Legacy GT, I just bought it for the AWD since we need that sometimes up here in Michigan.

Its such a clean car. I got it used (34K miles on it) and I only paid 14k. I love the way it looks and drives. I just got to test it out in 5" of snow and I have to say, Subaru AWD is reaally good in snow, slush and ice.

nothing but studded tires help you in ice, don't forget that

lovely car though, im a fan of the legacy gt (before they ****ed it all up with the latest gen, look terrible)

    They are fun in snow

Is yours a manual or auto? They have completely different AWD systems.

The GT's actually a bit of a bitch. Subaru can't make a turbo piston ringland to save its life.

That's not really true. Unstudded traction snow tires like a Nokian Hakka RSi will do fine on ice. Not as good as studs, but studs have major disadvantages in other circumstances. Source -- I got first place in my class in the above.

Contiwintercontact... Wasnt that some inferior German made crap compared to what Nokian has for sale ? :)

And to people who are not familiar with this stuff:
What goes to studless tires on ice, those work as long as you have had someone with studs drive on that same ice before you to roughen the ice. When ice is not "mirror ice" anymore it's not that slippery anymore and studless ones find more grip. Using studless tires in here is not a problem as studded tires are common. Benefits with studless ones are less tyre noise and werent those even a bit more "stable" at high speeds (heart this from someone) ?
