Close to +100hp (+50%) without FI?

    Impressive.

Did you replace valve springs and raise the redline to something silly?

I've got a lot of time for small, light, underpowered FWD European cars lol

Been driving Puntos for 7 years now - though both of mine have been mk2s, rather than this one (which is a mk3). They're great IMO. Cheap to run, fix, decent to drive...

The Saab is a fair bit quicker though ;)

Mustangs and ZR1s are a bit bling for me. I'd buy an MX5 and bodge a supercharger on it...

nop, it's 201hp stock, 240 with the airbox only (same as the S2000), the ECU made me gain another 20/25 and so did the alu line as the catalyser is emptied ;)

i would have done more but she's quite a drinker already :p but the perfs are not too bad, make the 0-100km/h in 5.9sec and 275km/h top speed on 95 octane :p

actually sparing to buy a friend used Exige with K24 engine swap, will probably crack a jackson racing surpercharger kit for the occasionn, should make quite a nice poor man ferrari ;)

    For serious?

    +40hp from just an airbox?
That's a crap ton of gains from what amounts to a fancy air filter.
    Did you dyno this?
Most cars starting with double the hp, don't gain half that from a new intake.

Or do you mean airbox + tune = 40?

I'd jump on that elise if you can get it.

Never really understood why this never came to the US. Looks better than the current one(s).

in fact you don't really gain 40hp by the airbox, the stock one is limiting the power, you just "unlock" it :)

You've got 280hp (I'm assuming you meant crank, not whp).

Check out some dynos of supercharged FN2's found on this page.
    http://www.cplracing.co.uk/index.php?id=16
Around 250 whp supercharged, which should be around 280 crank (granted that doesn't look very aggressive (to me).)

So you managed to match a supercharged FN2, without using FI, and without raising redline.

A supercharged car has a new intake, and is running +bars, whereas you're still running -bars [no matter how free-flowing the intake].

    Both are tuned.

So the only difference that leaves just your gutted cats.
(BTW the supercharged dynos don't specify if the supercharged car has a catless exhaust, so I'll assume it's stock.)

    So since :
    - Hp is the same
    - Your max intake flow is less (negative pressure)
    - Both are tuned
Then : gutted cats >= supercharger?

Do you happen to have a stock dyno run and a modified dyno run?

(Never seen gains like this before. Not saying it's not possible, just I've never seen it myself. For all I know you have an "F it" tune running lean as hell with lots of advance.)

    P.S.
I'm not familiar with the terminology "Line" that you're using when you refer to an "aluminium line".

well i don't know what he did on his car but 280hp supercharged seem really low to me, just have a look at the Jackson surpercharger kit, it make the engine go to 320hp with ease Oo

i really don't know, but maybe it's my ignition system that make the difference. i've been told it the it wasn't on par with the rest of the engine on perf level and it would make a big difference to change it, but all the mod has been done at once so i didn't knew it would at that point.

all the mods has been done by the official honda dealer i bought the car to, he got a little reputation when it come to tune car on atmo only. but really, 280hp is not that hard to pull out of a K20.

again, tell them to change the ignition, and some other stuff has been done to increase the engine response but nothing that fancy, polished the air intake and such ...
