looks like a twitch shooter
Hmm, not for me, I guess.
Andddd it's on Unreal Engine lol.
I know a couple of indie devs working on tactical shooters in UE4 who i think just got a tears in their eyes if Riot is spending $$$ in this direction.
Got to say it looked interesting, reminding me of overwatch vaguely, slower paced it seems.
Updated thread title with the new name... and new video.
^ Good video. Now I know for sure that I'm not interested...
Nah, I'll gladly pass.
Just read the headline "Riot is attacking Overwatch and Counterstrike"... had to laugh.
Tencent wanting to get a slice of the FPS pie.
Game is a big meh for me, but I've never been a big fan of these types of super "esport" shooters.
I finally understand.
That is nothing like a tactical shooter.
Another cs go wanna be rip off, sorry not for me
Just curious about what the deal is with coming to a thread for a game you know you won't like, Just to tell everyone you don't like it.
I watched summit1g play this trash the entire night.
The only reason this game is the most watched on Twitch right now is because it's made by the same people who made LoL.
I'm sure this will be very popular, but it's not for me.
well.. its extremely CS lookalike. it looks to me like a fancy\Riot's version of a CS game.
Riot actually have some vision from what iv seen so far in LoL, but this Valorant looks like a Counter-Strike game
with individual model design and some crowd control skills. that's it. the AIM is a copy\paste from CS,
the game-play iv seen so far looks very uninteresting; maps look very weak.
i can see these type of shooters having big communities. the type of Overwatch shooters that combine
elements from a Moba game only in a first person view. i dislike it very much.. and il explain in a few sentences :
take TF2 for example. that was the last online shooter i was addicted to. i have around 6000 hours on it since Day-0,
the day i bought a physical copy of the Orange Box. TF2 was ALWAYS balanced. if you passed the point of a basic
learning curve, that's about it - the next thousands of hours are yours to practice\troll\become better or w\e. adding
items wasn't an issue.. it did not break the balance of the game. as far as i see it, most shooters today can't keep up
with this balance thing, specially Blizzard's games. they are always breaking things when they patch, buff, nerf, add, or w\e.
Battlefield is one game that i can think of in terms of a solid balance. some guns needs adjust here and there, but not the entire core of the game.
CS is aim\hit-scan based, a pure AIM game will always be.. the same. so no complains here.
so in these hybrid type of games like Overwatch ( and i see Valorant as the same genre in the future ) its extremely hard to the point
you must break the game every few months to keep it balanced. if you combine skills and keep changing it, the outcome
will always be that class-A on release will never be the same after a period of time. these things are mostly Moba issues, but
i saw it since the first big patch in Overwatch. i see no different future for Valorant.
what Valve did in TF2 amazes me even today. other companies can learn so much from these small yet
important things in FPS games. balance. that's the way i see it anyway.. this genre is problematic and that's one
of the reasons i dislike most of the online games of this Era. where some young people see it as "evolved genres" i see it
as "broken genre".
Im playing the closed beta, its very good, has potential..but needs a lot of work.
Maps need work for sure..some abilities are way to powerful if used correctly.
This is what you call a Pro Gamer move.
Valorant anti-cheat starts upon computer boot and runs all the time, even when you don't play the game
The kernel anticheat driver (vgk.sys) starts when you turn your computer on. To turn it off, you either need to change the name of the driver file so it wouldn't load on a restart, or you can uninstall the driver (it will be installed back again when you open the game).
Is that like how Punkbuster works?
There are no AA cheats for Valorant at this point in time as far as I can tell, for there to be none at this point for such a popular game means whatever they are doing is working.
