Not bad tbh. I wonder how these will translate to EU pricing, but just taking the USD price, tacking on Polish VAT and the exchange rate and we're at around 80% the price of the 5950X for the 12900K. Granted, the mobo and RAM might prove to be the weak links in this configuration, but the CPU itself is reasonably priced given its leaked performance claims.

Well maybe it is as good as a 5950X at a lower price is one way to look at the price tag and this would be a good thing. Now I wonder if PC Gaming will get some kind of boost at higher than 1080p resolution.

if 12600kf can outperform a 5800X at $260 it might be a decent launch.

If you look at 4k gaming then you can hardly justify price/performance for a new cpu/mobo.
Not this, not the next one.
That unless you have some really old 4 core one or something.

Since video cards got so expensive and hard to get every hundred spent on them means more than investing in a cpu.
If the rumours about the next generation of videocards are true, being 2x faster than current ones then that's where your money go.

All I said is not valid if you have say $800-1000 to waste and you bench your PC every day or weekly and you feel happy about it.

both 4K and 1440p high refresh cost premium. The first one requires one hell of a card, the other one a faster cpu.let's do the maths though.

you need at least a 3070 to run 4K comfortably, that is $700 msrp to have a card that will do 4k/60 in almost every case. For a cpu you only need something like a 10400F to maintain 60fps.That's 150-170 dollars, and is gonna be plenty for 60fps.

to push 1440p at higher fps you'll need a 6800.3070 is gonna do great too,but 6800 is probably what you want ideally.

$580 msrp (though just for the reference, aib's are a lot more pricey) with a cpu like 5600x at 270usd,the end price is about the same as a 4K/60 rig.

It will be nice when we get an official shipping date from Intel. As Intel recently announced it anticipated chip shortages on in to 2022, the lack of a firm ship date at this late stage is not especially surprising.

11600k can already outperform the 5800x in some tasks.
