oh no my friend^...I do agree with you on the upgrade because a 7700k is still $300
Yea I mean, if it's a money issue it would just be better if he saved up for a platform upgrade later or something right? And just go for the GPU today? 300$ used? That's quite a lot of moniez
Yep^......nothing like a new shiny graphics card!...now I want me one!...
Well he's not is he, he has an i5 6600 4 core.
If staying on an Intel platform, I wouldn't consider anything less than an 8700k. Going from 6x00 to 7x00 seems more like a sidegrade (even if it's i5 to i7, 4c/4t to 4c/8t it's... it could be better).
Edit: So, my opinion, save your money up for when you can buy a better CPU and (if necessary) motherboard, I wouldn't do an interim upgrade to another quadcore.
Again, thank you to all who have chimed in, I know these types of questions have many potential answers, lots of variables.
Lots of info to digest here.
Ill let you know what I end up doing and how it turns out, thanks!
Yea man, you should totally get one What did you have in mind?
Damnit! I clearly have eyesight problems in this post
Now the 7700K makes even more sense.
Apologies for my incompetence
