I have a e-gfx5950 ultra and i'm using the forceware 61.76. I am getting a e-gf6800ultraextreme.I have already dloaded the fw66.81. I have the latest chipset.inf for my intel i875 already in use. question; if i install the 66.81 now can i just install the 6800 and not worry about drivers? is it ok to just remove existing drvr using control panel and or device manager?I know how to do all of this i'm just timid/gunshy...lol.I have read the threads for changing drvr's just looking for some easy assist. I had trouble when i changed from 53.30 drvr to the 61.76 but im sure it was operator error. been running great for months. Thank you games=NASCAR2003
just pop that baby in there its the drivers, all nvidia. Just pop that bad boy in there and have fun.
When changing your driver, it's best to uninstall it via either control panel/device manager as you say, and then use the drivercleaner after reboot. This way all the files get deleted, also the ones in your windows folders.
matrix uninstall using the add or remove function in the c panel, yes use driver cleaner and the cab cleaner option also......youve got it right. dont forget to use safe mode also, its in your driver cleaner instructions.
drvr how about i just stick with my existing driver and just change out cards? I know there are improvements in the newer drvr's but I want to make a simple change over. Then after up and running bump up to newer drvr's. there are so many conflicting comments about each driver. It is really hard to choose one based on forums and I don't like changing them,it is not nearly as much fun as driving Daytona at 190mph! all the forums come down to "change untill you find the one you like for your games" I just don't like the things that go wrong when making changes....
Hey, MrGAS... As a fellow NR2003 racer I'd suggest you first uninstall vid drivers then slap card in and reinstall drivers. I've had so much trouble with friends/relatives comps running NR2003 when they mess around with drivers. Best to just get rid of it all before putting new card in.. BTW, you don't get good enough FPS with the 5950? Mine works just swell.. Fershy (uglyamerican on Sierra lobby and rsClient)
more than likely when he slaps that 6800 in there he will have to reinstall the drivers anyhow, and i would go with 61.77 ! best overall stable driver. screw the 3dmark05 scores lol. oh i also race Nascar 2003 online
new well the 6800 ultra is in. driver cleaner worked like a charm. using the 66.81 whql. did not get more than a couple fps increase in my own personal style benchmark. you N2003 racers i would like to know what you get at Daytona with 42 AI At start of single race and what you get through turn 3-4? i have everything on except solar.maxed. i have 4xaa and 4xaf on, high performance and both aa-af optimizations on. .not overclocked.im at 425mhz/1.10ghz. agp 8x,fast writes on. screen is at 1280x1024x32 100hz at Pocono ,testing,i run with mirror off and get mid 140's fps.up about 30 fps from egfx5950ultra my Daytona fps where and still are 31-33 before engines on and up to 36-38fps in 3-4 and down to 28-27fps approaching stands all before green flag.no change from egfx5950ultra i know i can cut back on settings ,i.e. screen size,aa-af,graphic options in game but why should i have to? any suggestions? thank you ps,when i installed the card i did NOT use the cd from evga.i just installed the new drivers from my files, after getting rid of old,and turned it up and activated cool bits and ran rivatuner. is there possably something on the cd i needed to turn the card on 100%?im assuming it is already all the way on after looking all through riva and vid properties. 30+MrGAS Driver # 42 Cadillac sponsored by Cadillac in Cup,BGN,CTS,IROC,TA,Aerowars88 http://www.30plusracing.com/main.shtml http://www.racestrl.com/ http://www.mcpherson-racing.com/Vb/index.php where do you race?
Hi there, I to am a Nascar 2003 racer, currently running in the Jolt JRL League and the Pheonix League. My FPS didn't increase to much In NR2003 when I went from my old Ti4600 to a 6800Ultra, although I have bumped all the settings up to max now. Clem
