Ok, picked up another card tonight....now I have 1 dedicated to folding 24/7.....problem is, my 560Ti is now not Folding. So, what exactly do I need to do to get 2 cards folding in the same system???

Update: F@H managed to mix the cards up. My 560Ti was folding, not the new card. At current, I can't fold....but if someone could post an answer anyway, when I get issues with Win7 sorted I will resume.

GTX640 is a Kepler based card. GT620 and GT630 are Fermi based.

My system updated yesterday morning (10-10-12)...which resulted in a corrupt Windows install. Not sure which update caused it or why....but I've reloaded Windows and disabled Windows update to prevent such occurances in the future.

No, never got the 640 to fold. Actually took it out for now to get things sorted out with the new GTX660 first. F@H was detecting the 640 though whereas it doesn't detect the 660.

iancook221188: I wouldn't put all my faith in that. (I own 2 computer repair shops and have 28+ years experience in repair)
I would DEFINITELY go grab HDTune and run a benchmark with it as well as check the "Health" tab for anything that shows up yellow (a yellow anything in the Health tab means a value out of threshold = a failing HDD/SSD)

Just having a too-small pagefile can lead to all kinds of problems, but most all BSODs ending in an F4 is almost always a hardware failure of some sort.

    Good luck!

thx Psychlone i have some experience on repairing computer to (hate laptop), the ssd is defiantly on the way out, the other one i had died i think it was the controller, at the moment i don't know of any software than can tell me what is happening to ssd's (i.e S.M.A.R.T) there does not seem to be a standard for ssd S.M.A.R.T so the software does not know how to read it because it is different for ever manufacturer, as of yet. one problem i had was it didn't even write a crash dump file so i could not even look at than 30GB ssd and 64bit :stewpid: lol

Ok, FAHControl is finally detecting the GTX660 and GT640....it downloads project 8018. It starts folding then shutdown....

Ok, have the GT640 folding now....but it's going extremely slow. Are they ever going to get this sorted out? It's estimating 1.6 days to complete a single 7624 project....

Are you running version 2.25 of the core? Because this version is much slower than 2.22. in general projects 762x autodownload core 2.25.My 460gtx completes this project in 15 hours for ~8000 ppd and is the slowest from all the projects and with core 2.25 is even slower.I'm running gpu client in Ubuntu and all the projects that I complete (8054,8043) are slower than before with the core 2.25.:(

yes, running 7.2.9 with core 2.25 on a Kepler based GT640.

I realize the GT640 is dramatically slower than the GTX560Ti I got rid of....but it's actually performing worse than the GT220 I used to fold with...

Wohoo! Broke the top 50 for Guru3D Folders!
Won't be long till I'm tapping on the 3M mark!!

I think it's going to be a long journey from here to the top 10 though...
Even though I'm #5 (pretty consistently) in the top 20 producers, it's going to take a LONG time to get to umpteen-million like some of the big dogs here.

It's not a surprize that 560ti it's better than 640 because 1.it's an upper midrange card, while 640 enters in the lower segment. 2.fermi has better optimisation than kepler in fah(I'm wondering if we will ever see that optimisation for kepler). It's very strange than even a GT220 can beat the GT640 even if that 2.25 core it's dreadfull:eek:

Congratulation Psychlone:thumbup: It will be harder to climb to the top 10 Guru3D Folders indeed, but the rate you are folding you are not to far away;) I see that recently you produced almost 100k points in a day. That's very good. Keep up the good work:)

I know the 560Ti is faster...lol. It was getting 15-25K PPD (depending on projects)....my GT220 was averaging 4-6K....my GT640 is average 2-4K PPD. The purpose of the GT640 was to have a low-power card that could fold 24/7....where I wouldn't have to stop it to play games. I have the GTX660 for gaming....and if they ever get **** sorted with Kepler and F@H, it'll fold when I'm not gaming. I may have to get my 560Ti back though....this is getting ridiculous...
