I just realized that I did some folding anonymously for 12 hours or so since yesterday, worth ~15 k points ;)... all because of a power outage that did something to my client because I received an error when I returned to fold after the blackout ,and the only thing I could do was to re install the client.:bang: When I installed the client I set my donor name, team, all. But when I started to fold I didn't see that all was set to default in the client(I don't know why). I realized that after I saw that I don't receive any points. That was a beginner mistake, not to check the identity :newb:; the important part is that the work that I completed will be used by Standford, and is not lost, even if ra_alfaomega haven't receive anything for that.:p

Was just a couple of days, (for old times sake)
was getting 25k on my GTX580 (this will soon be up for sale if any one is tempted).

Will try a short run on my GTX670 just to see what the ppd difference is like..

good to here from you anyway, there is not a kepler client for GTX670/80/90 but there a work around that is supported by stanford to get the gpu3 client working but it does not give the best ppd

My HD7870 still won't fold.... Getting very tempted just to shove the GTX560Ti back in and let it chew through some WUs...

I'm back on my 560Ti for now. Soon as I get a chance to finish lapping heatsinks I'll get my 2600K folding...right now I'm hitting 70C within minutes of starting F@H.

if you have the right case, one of those corsair h100's or the antec equivalent works pretty well for a self contained unit.

I tried an Antec Kuhler 620....hit 70C as soon as I started folding. Didn't matter how I mounted or how many fans I mounted to it....soon as F@H started my temps shot to 70C (using 4 cores). I've been using my Freezer 13, which can maintain 70-72C max temp (running smp -8) but the rep from Intel said that's not safe for 24/7 folding.

RealTemp reports a max of 56C under "normal" usage.

Overclocked to 4,2 (for now, with stock voltages) manages to pull 72k ppd from 7003-7004 projects, 50k from 8048 and just 44k from 8013. I am very happy with this 3930k :) My ram is just 1333mhz, but soon I will buy 1866 or 2000mhz so it will perform even better.

Back to Ubuntu and folding big projects again. While Smp projects are not so dependent of high frequencies ram , big projects that use up to 3Gb like higher mhz on the ram. 1333mhz like I have now are not optimal.I hope that in a month I can buy some 2133mhz in quad channel, and than I will have a nice boost on the ppd. From ~ 80-90K to 120+K.Right now I fold a 6901 project than gives me 77K ppd and 96k points.A 6903 gives me almost 90K.

Actually, -Bigbeta -Smp 12. I tried with -bigadv but I received only 6097-98 projects(for 56k ppd)
