main rig has bin down whilst i get to griped with water cooling hoping to linux after that
Aw man, and your sooooo close to breaking 30. I'm babying mine along until I cross over 30 this week. My CPU is having problems running stable and my second video card is very picky about what clock setting I'm running the CPU at. I've replaced about everything but the motherboard. :bang: I've read several articles where they are stable with 4.2ghz and 1.35v with this CPU. I'm up to 1.42v and it's still less than 90% stable. I'm trying to decide what motherboard to put in it.
i should still do it in a few week
sound like that could be your mobo you could go for a gigabyte x580 OC board or ud3/ud5 on the asus side Asus Rampage III
new pump died so the rig is going to be down till next week nearly damiged my cpu:bang::bang:
weaksauce... now those damn br's are going to catch us too quick.
for what it's worth, i've got my rig at a stable point now. smp and 2 gpu cores running almost 24/7. I only take the cores down to play a few games after work. I'll try messing with the v7 and get my other gpu running. I might be good for 20k ppd or so with all 3 gpu's and the smp running. It's no replacement for ian's water cooled rig, but every bit helps right?
That sucks. I know a little what that feels like. The power cord to my pump came lose. I just happen to be doing some web surfing on it when I noticed the CPU temps going up. Barely saved it. I'll have my replacement motherboard early next week. My score will drop off while I get it swapped out and tweaked. Went with the Rampage III Extreme. Hopefully not for too long.
Rampage III sound like a good choice yer the pump was not noise so i could not tell when it was not running the core temp pop up computer down at 85c
new pump so now leak tested and now back up and folding 24c cooler:banana::banana: but snagged a 2684 o well
i have horrible news... i bought a new z68 with a 2600k... and several graphics cards. damn my addictive personality... should be ready before july 15th.
welcome to the addiction Brasky what graphics cards have you gone with
just a few 460's, i didn't want to go overboard....
that pretty cool what do you think your ppd will be
25 now, should be roughly 50, and i'll have 2 big adv going, so who knows what they will do.
I like these 10xxx and 11xxx projects, low temperatures and high ppd about 17-17.5 k ppd. The difference of temperature between these projects and the 68xx is about 10 C. The only thing that I don't like is that the cpu is going just 95%.
Looks like my main system is going to be down for a little while. I think I found why my two GTX 470's died. A chip on the motherboard blew.:bolt:
Not a good way to start the weekend.:realmad:
pulling to much power from the mobo for the pci-e slot normaly it the amd card that pull to much form there, nvidia normal pull most of the power for the 8/6 pins
<---Stopped folding with my pc as the ppd is very low...
But i had a gts250 lying around which is now folding in an old amd pc.. :nerd:
Now i just need another pcie motherboard for the 8800gt...
Atleast my ppd will be a little better now with the nvidia card.
RIG DOWN RIG DOWN q9950/gtx260 rg is down power supply started smelling of burning:cry: so im going to have to get a new one so im going to be down 21k ppd for a little while no fare:bang:
rig back up with a new power supply tx850m so i mite end up putting the 2x 460's in there and running linux on the 970 rig
