Anyone know why I might be getting unsmooth playback of a 1080p blue ray video on my hd2600xt?

    Using powerdvd 8 v1662, vista 32bit sp1.

Possibly related, ticking and unticking use ati avivo hardware acceleration does not change the cpu usage of poweredvd, it stays around 38-45% on my core 2 duo 2.66ghz cpu.

catalyst 8.5s and latest AVIVO installed.

is your bluray player fairly new? make sure to run a cleaner disc in your player, sometimes the lazer can get dusty. does your computer have sufficient ram?

Run the video, then check PowerDVD configuration and check the "information" tab. It should say if dvxa hardware decoding it taking place. Look for an update to PowerDVD on their site. They may have an update patch.
