Yeah, now go try it in some crowded corridor to get some nice double/ultra/monster kills :)

Sick bro, can't wait to do that.

It just makes it all the more enjoyable when the graphics are so nice... they're truly nice. :D

I love the series and have been playing UT3 since it came out and still play matches every now and then but I NEVER play online, nor will I ever.

I love me some old fashioned bot matches, will UT4 have any offline bot matches or is the last hope for offline gaming gone with the free to play aspect as well?

Downloaded the Launcher this weekend and as soon as it was opened it lagged my PC so bad that it was just unusable. If the launcher is minimized then its fine, but as soon as its opened my PC lags. Anyone else have issues with it?

I think there is some training stuff with selectable difficulty to play against bots.

I haven't experienced this issue but im curious, do you have G-Sync set to enabled for Windowed applications? If yes, try disabling it and running it.

It's open Pre-Alpha. The game was playable before it even had menus :p

Impact hammer was the only weapon I was successful killing aim-bots with. Remember the original UT. Had fun on a lot of maps a person by the tag name of Rush created.

Yeah that wasn't so fun.. but that actually was only a couple months ago.

The game has evolved like crazy in the last 2-3 months when it literally was just a loading map and then a couple maps to frag in.

For those who would be interested to know, I plan on getting an instagib server running this go around. When I was clanning in UT99 and 2k4, I never needed to as I had lots of buddies with servers and played all over the community, but this time I will be investing and once online hosts support UT4, I will be getting one up and running.

I'm super pumped for this $hit. UT was how I spent a good decade of my gaming life.

Yep that was it. Seems as if Handbrake was also affected by this. It must have been the latest 355.82 drivers because this never happened prior to those.

    Thanks for the tip

  15. If they bring back the BGM "Go Down", I will cry happy tears! :)

This is the ****. For an alpha anyways. Much better than UT3. Its like they copied the mechanics (and levels?) from ut2004. Deck16 is still a blast. InstaGib is still a blast.

Old school shooter fun, nothing beats it, my fave fps style. No clue why people aren't playing it where I am, well not many. Maybe its lack of exposure.... game needs to go on steam or something or some people need to lets play it on Youtube.

Yeah reminded me of UT2004 a bit, the last one I actively played.

There is someone on the forums that created a mod that converts the BSP's from UT2004 into UT4 format, meaning anyone can use them.

Only thing is you need to realise that things like movement speed and map scale need adjusting. Fortunately!, there is another person who created a tool called simply 'mapscaler', allowing anyone to scale their map at the BSP stage - which is a godsend if you consider how long it would take to individually rescale SIRO 200,000 vertices on a simple DM map just because the distances between corners are too long or short, making every straight a duck shoot.

Check the 'level design' forums for more details, as well as posts about specific maps from that era that people are re-skinning for UT4.

Making a simple DM map is very easy, highly recommend it - there is something cathartic and relaxing about building a new level...
