I am more curious about what clocks your running your 560 at? Pretty impressive 1680x1050. Heres mine at 900/1800/2106:
well i decided to do a fresh install of win 7 today because it was that time. i adjust the clocks back to 920mhz/1840mhz/2200mhz and bumped my cpu up to 4.0ghz. so here is my score now. i also ran v2.1 on my other computer and noticed that this newer version has more visual details compared to v2.1. so i now see why my scores are lower. which is fine by me. v2.5 looks better imo anyways.
im on my phone right now, so when i get home i will run v2.1 and v2.5 again ill post a side by side comparison and show you what i mean.
i feel like a nub now :bang: not sure what happened, but the scores look normal both tests were done at 920/1840/2200 as through AB V2.1 V2.5
I guess my old system was holding me back. Here is my new score. CPU @ stock and GPU at default SC clocks.
Here's my 2.5 score running on a single 6950 2GB with custom bios. Shader unlock, default 6950 mem timings, voltage unlocked and upped significantly. This was running at a modest 950, but I clocked my other 6950 @ over 1Ghz. It is however currently being RMA'd due to some recklessness on my part. I pumped a little too much power into it I think. I now know the limits of these cards pretty well. I will post eyefinity with a single 6950 @ 5040x1050, and when my replacement comes I'll post a CFX eyefinity bench as well. *edit: even though these aren't as powerful as my 570's in dx11 with heavy tessellation I am very proud of these little monsters. Let me know if you have any requests for different resolutions or settings, and for eyefinity and crossfire. thx. *edit: This is the card @ 980Mhz Core:
Gets better with age. Had a motherboard bios update that improved my memory timings to where they should have been all along. Retested everything at stock HQ image settings. 900/1800/2106
you should do another one at same resolution and tessellation but with ASF and AA all the way up, and compare ours. Our scores are so similar, I'm curious if the 6950 will pull ahead with eye candy cranked up vs. the 560.
just did a copy of your settings: these things HATE tessellation, but they LOVE AA & ASF *edit: No Tessellation:
Wow, not too far off from each other. Were all optimizations disabled in CCC? Also just to verify this is with 6970 shaders unlocked, and a 980 o/c on the core? I am running everything at stock, well stock for the EVGA SC version. Also all optimizations are disabled in NVCP with quality set to HQ.
Correct, no optimizations in CCC. It's a Diamond HD 6950 2GB w/shaders unlocked, but not the 6970 bios, just modded 6950 bios with a voltage unlock. memory speed is stock, core is @ 980, but it doesn't really make that much of a difference so I think i'll downclock it back to 940. I used to have a 470 SLI setup that I recently sold, and I have 2 570's but at the moment they're not doing anything. I was using two of these 6950's but I killed one so I'm waiting on a replacement. Should be here this weekend or next week. I just prefer the AMD cards for eyefinity. I use 3 24" screens for work during the day, and eyefinity 3x1 on them at night. I didn't like the 570's surround. I had more problems with it actually. Oh, and my i7 950 is running at 3.6Ghz right now, not 3.8. I downclocked that as well.
here it is at stock clocks: that's a HUGE difference... the overclock almost doubles the performance with normal tessellation & same settings in heaven. that is quite the bang for the buck. Even though these are the 6900 series, the tessellation still KILLS the performance. It really sucks.
* Jealous * I can't even run Unigine - it keeps crashing with that GPU Restart error. Funny - it runs all the Testing benchmarks (the stability ones), Furmark, Kombuster, etc perfectly, runs demanding games perfectly, just crapsout on Unigine. (GRRRR)
Ran this with my old dual core PC with crossfire 5770's. I was pleasantly surprised, there's life in the old gal yet.
