Had an appointment to see a specialist on the 18th of this month to have a consult on a health issue. Nothing major, just back-neck pain and muscle soreness around the shoulder blade. The date was given and set since january, so nothing out of the ordinary. The pandemic wasn't a thing, at least here in Southern Spain. Now the very hospital and the very floor where i was due to pay a visit today was declared closed and extreme measures were enforced. What happened: a chief medical staffer said that medics shouldn't wear mask attending people for the only reason of not spread fear and panic. Political image behind all of that, I heard. Now, doctors were infected with Covid-19 and the whole hospital is in dire situation. And I had a date to visit that place, decided that I'll pass as is not something critical seeing that the pandemic is on high tide. Lesson learned, trust your gut instinct. Dodged a bullet. Stay at home. Heard about the news some moments ago, I reckon I had an adrenaline rush... News here: https://bit.ly/2xjidD0
Holy Cow... yeah - no kidding - wow. Talk about dodging a bullet' really glad to hear you're not infected.
Anyone who tried to politicize or profit from this pandemic needs to be hung(figuratively) after this is over. Shame on all of them.
It's outrageous. A distant friend of ours finished his so called "internship" in a hospital in Valencia. He was substituting one of medical staff. Almost at the end of February signed off, packed his stuff and cleared the desk. Went home. Strangely, next week he was called to rejoin the staff, the same staff who ended his contract. He sensed something was wrong and asked for a raise. The hell broke loose. They offered it , without a word. Even stranger. Now, sh!t is about to get ugly. He was asked to work with "pneumonia" patients, but without wearing a mask or gloves, to keep things calm and relaxed. He vehemently denied, he dodged a bullet greater than mine. Raul, if you read this, know that we won't let this be forgotten. Say names and sue the hell out of those cretins.
I would be more alarmed if my doctor wasn't wearing a mask and gloves..... Especially in the middle of a viral pandemic.....
I moved out of NYC long before all this started and was talking to some people still there a week ago; people are leaving different places already. Some leaving the city for LI or NJ etc.. heck ... like a disaster movie (no sense to make fun of intended here)
Kinda surprised the printing date was a week ago meaning this was in the works for several days prior to that. This does not resemble the 'White House' guidelines of well over a week ago. So basically they knew weeks ago and tried to manage the market instead of protecting the public. I'm sure Trump created the guidelines. All that's missing is an invite to Mar-a--Lago I'll leave it at that.
I'm hoping a bone head move I did a couple of days ago... I live out in the middle of nowhere. However, at the end of my driveway where the road also ends, is a really stellar view of Rainer. It's technically private property, mine, but I don't hassle folks except for target shooting and trash. Anyhow, was down collecting the mail... and a local regular I know was up, so naturally I walked up and shook his hand...FM.
Sorry to hear about your situation @anticupidon. Glad you holding fine. It really seems weird that doctors are not wearing masks. They are professionals and should follow common sense and prevention measures nonetheless. With or without pandemic situation.
Oh where oh where could that hand have been oh where oh where could it be.... probably gonna be fine. I generally wash my hands when I walk inside; old habit.
No kidding. Sadly there are millions of people who lack common sense and have to be reminded. Mr. Cracker breaks it down nicely.
@jbscotchman, valid points. But that video is really misleading and acts as political humor/entertainment. Doesn't really fit here imo. I'd remove it.
Let me rephrase that: Everyone who tried / tries to politicize or profit from this pandemic needs to be hung from their balls to a windmill. Practically.
