Both - you need tight timings and high speed on the memory as well as cpu speed. A high clocked cpu wont score high without the memory being 1:1.

My score of 27.281 was done at 3.05Ghz with memory 1:1 @ DDR610

This is a older run at a relatively low 3.1ghz on water. Should put me in the top 5.

these are actually my current records...I don't have a ss of the orginal 27.25 run :( . But I do have a ss of the 32M run. I'm confident I can hit low 27s again anyway. Actually, I just swapped my 254 into my watercooled SK8V rig to give it a shot with some cold frosty Northwestern air blowing on the radiators. Now for the OS tweaking and memory tweaking...

Hmmmm, it seems Icve been knocked off the top spot by 0.031 of a second!!

Looks like its back to tweaking tonight to try and reclaim, although considering im up against water I cant grumble about my time really. Just need my swiftech 'Ultra' watercooling to arrive :)

I think its a bit more than that now with phrozin's time. That time really hurts.

Lol, didnt see phrozins post! I did say back on page 1 that he'd be topping the charts, hes got the most cpu power on the forums without a doubt.

Im still happy with my 27.281 on air, Im not too far behind and sometimes ahead of a couple of watercooled entries. Im gonna try going for absolute cpu spped tonight and might run a divider rather than keeping 1:1 - might help my score if i can get enough mhz on the cpu

Was that on your watercooled rig or on the vapochill phrozin?

1.68v I think thats high for water, atleast my swiftech kit would hit 60's with that much voltage.

I cant go past about 1.55v and stay under 50c 1.6ish gets me in mid 50's higher than that I get in 60's.

Still having system shutdown problem with more than 1.4 1.45v right now cant find the problem.

It was a lucky run one day, if I remember correctly, around 3150mhz. Also, it was with 4x512mb, which seems to give better times vs. 1gig on s940, mostly because s940 doesn't use the 2T timing with lots of ram.

I'd rather you switch out my 27.25 time with this run I did this morning, since I have a SS for that time. :nerd: I ran this with different ram (2x512) and a different PSU. If I pop my 4x512 set in, I have to swap PSU's too to use the adjustable 3.3v rail because those sticks need more volt to get up around 230mhz 1:1. Maybe tomorrow...

As you can see, I need quite a lot of mhz to keep up with the setups running around 270mhz 1:1, as SuperPi is extremely memory bandwidth limited. It's all about tight timings and high HTT. This is actually the highest clock speed I've ever reached and taken a SS of. :dave: Watercooling of course, and cold, cold air.

its only that high Vicious as i am not on my main system ie light speed as my m/b cpu socket shat it self new board arriving tomorrow, on the ls that would be over 3.4gb at a lot less voltage :)
