I wouldn't say RVP isn't in form, compared to Ronaldo since CR7 has been way more inconsistent. RVP- 26 games, 19 goals, 7 assists. CR7- 22 games, 24 games, 4 assists. Tight, anyway... can't wait.
thing with RVP is that he can stand there for the whole game and then give 10 mins of magic that give the result. happened few times this season. Dont rule out Rooney, he has been on form. Hopefully Fergie knows how to stop Ronaldo Cant wait! That is a clash of the titans!
It's gonna be an epic match. I hope Man United will crush Real Madrid, RM often plays dirty and are not worthy to win UCL.
Arsenal to win the champions league, I can only dream :bed: Thay cant even win it in a video game with hacks on.
Not sure the outcome of tonight, it's going to be close I think. Ronaldo is either going to have a quiet night and become frustrated or he will dominate the match. Will be interesting to watch.
only 1-1 madrid was so much stronger...... bad ref though looking forward to 3rd of march expecting real to go through Buuuuuuuuuurp
Nice fast paced match, yeah, RM were better, to be expected... Man U had some good chances too though, good result for them.
Madrid dominated the possession and had more shots, but that's to be expected. how many teams go to the Bernabau and don't get dominated? even Barca go there and get outplayed quite a lot. For Man U to come away with 1-1 is a great result. Fergie will be happy with that. You look at some of the Man U chances as well and you think the 2nd leg will be a great game. Utd will be more likely to score in that game than Madrid. RVP unlucky, one cleared off the line, one brilliantly saved by the keeper. Rooney just keeps proving that he's a donkey, can't make a 5 yard pass. UTD can only play better in the 2nd leg, that's for sure. Problem is, even if we progress, there's going to be other great, in form teams waiting. So it's not all about this game. TBH, I'll be happy if we take the league tittle back from Man sh1tty. CL would be nice, but I don't think our squad is quite there yet. Think we need another 2 more years. EDIT: UTD fans singing "sit down Mourinho, sit down Mourinho" made the whole pub laugh
What a great game. I expected such performance from United right from the start, very much like how we played at the Camp Nou in 08... before winning the second leg 1-0. We kept Ronaldo quiet in the second half which is always a good thing. I would say I'm a bit disappointed we didn't take those 2 chances. One with Robin and the other with Giggsy who decided to take another touch instead of just putting it in. Great defensive display by Evans and Jones. DeGea was immense today, surreal... and is showing us why he is becoming one of the best in Europe, let's not even mention his age. Rooney was... mehh... Can't wait for the second leg, a draw is a great result, but let's try and win it now. I would say if United get the first goal at OT... it's game over for Madrid. Why did the referee not give us the corner, it was barely over the 93rd min? Why didn't he give Ramos, being the last defender, a yellow for shoving Evra out of the way? Why didn't he give a yellow card to whoever the freak elbowed Evans? Typical LaLiga ref, always their mind up their a$#. A bit worried about RVP who was dying by the end. Can't blame him after playing two full games. Hope he recovers nicely.
Giggsy should have just closed his eyes and put his laces through it, it dropped perfectly for him. De Gea was the perfect goalkeeper against Real, they were never going to threaten from set pieces so we really needed a shot stopper tonight and boy, wasn't he immense? Give that boy a couple more seasons at OT, playing in the prem, also CL, let him bulk out a bit and get some more confidence and he'll be the best keeper in the world. Refs were dodgy tonight, I argued with half the pub that Ramos (the dirty diver) was the last man but whatever... Also, I think UTD should have had that last corner... but you never know, we could have foocked it up and Real could have broken and scored. So I'll take that 1-1 draw, it's a great result. If anything I can see us being much better in the 2nd leg. Oh, did nobody notice how after scoring, Ronaldo almost had tears in his eyes? man he still loves his old club, I so wish he comes back and I get to see him in action again. Top man.
Ronaldo cried indeed... and it was hard seeing the guy who has been playing alongside us, someone developing from a potential player into a world class player, score against us. Ronaldo respect us, our club and fans respect him. Just wanted those cu&t fans to show some appreciation for the club that sold him to them....
I was actually glad he scored tonight. I respect him for all the great things he says about Man U and Sir Alex. He's a great player and he handled scoring against his old club really well. Makes you think though, when he was at UTD, he really wanted to go to Real to fulfill his childhood dream. But right now I feel like his dream is to play for Man U again.
I believe he didn't know fully what he was getting into. The passion, the atmosphere and most importantly, the fans. It's like all Madrid fans want is win, they don't care about the players, just win... Once a player make a mistake, or miss a chance... or is going through a rough phase... they would rather boo him than get behind him and give him their support. Just look at when Modric moved there... one of the best midfielders in the EPL, and he didn't get any hype, no reception, no nothing. Madrid fans cannot be compared to the United fans.
Great game! Madrid played exactly how i expected. they could have won it, but so could we. Great display by both team. respect to Madrid fans for cheers when Giggs came on and respect to Ronaldo for not celebrating the goal! Bring him back Fergie! P.S Ramos is disgrace!
