man this is not good. what else are they going to try? in the long run the only people that are going to be hurting are the legit users. while the pirates still continue doing what they do without cause to worry. :thumbdown

It isn't a valid point. The ISPs don't have such resources to look at everything like that, even if MAFIAA pays them money. It has to do with the MAFIAA getting information that people are downloading a torrent then sending them a letter with enforcement from the ISP. The rest are just scare tactics.

not sure what ISP to switch to. i'm currently getting decent download speeds but awful (75KB/s) upload speeds, also they're on that list.

is there a list of all the isps that agreed/disagreed to do this?

Don't really understand the problem? If you're not downloading illegally, what's the concern?

99.9% of pc users have at least one time used pirated/illegal software...:puke2:

think billion users getting sued...think a law abiding citizen for a bad decision for once...getting into an adventure without sure ending...this is not legal...

freedom of information and data transmission is not something to f*ck with...

these idiotic isps will lose millions of people and money...life on pc is not only facebook and surfing simply the web....that's only the minority of use............

While that is true with IPv6, the keys for the encryption will be stored with your router. This router, at least for FiOS, is technically the ONT box. I assume it will become the norm for ISPs to force you to terminate the connection on their own hardware. This way they will always have the key for your encryption making it relatively easy to watch your traffic.

On the upside, it makes your traffic to everything else secured.

    Due process, heard of it?

There's ample protection in existing law, and using existing systems, to protect intellectual property in the digital age.

Law enforcement should be handled by law enforcement officials, not ISPs or any form of commercial entities. Certainly not at the behest of third parties.

Warrants and court orders exist to give law enforcement the tools to combat known, or suspected, offenders when evidence supports such claims.

Legislation and system that allows for abuse will be abused.

    That is all.

I'm sure the hackers will come up with another way to download files. I doubt much will change....Unless you are one of those people who downloads hundreds of gbs per month.

You must be referring to how your data is travelling through their switches, their routers, their servers via a service you signed up for thereby waiving all those rights.

It's like setting up a counterfeiting scheme in someone's basement and getting pissed when they call the cops.
