I don't think he has a kill switch, but he has the power to tell the ISPs to bugger off. That's all he needs.

I don't see this happening anytime soon though, or really ever unless something major happens.

You'd be amazed at the number of senate bills that are passed, with very few in mainstream society even being aware of it.

AGAIN, PASSING COMMITTEE IS NOT PASSING THE SENATE!
    Jesus christ.

Seizing a domain via a warrant is not an internet kill switch.

Give it time. The new "Super Congress", it seems, will be able to do just about anything it wants to.

Nobody is saying it does....and you obviously didn't read the article in Randy's link. The US President will be given the authority to "shutdown" the US internet infrastructure in times of war if the bill mentioned in Randy's link passes the house and the senate and gets signed by the President.

Yes, i did read his article, hence the passing committee comment.
    S. 3480 died in 2010 and never passed. It is d-e-d dead.
    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:S3480:
S.413, the 2011 version died in committee in May without even being voted on
    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d112:s.413:

It isn't happening, and think before accusing someone of not reading the article. Hey, maybe do some research!

    Perhaps this article confused me:

All I know for sure, is that in the end, the oligarchs will do whatever they desire - legal or illegal. Just like the U.S. has a constitution and Obama is stepping all over it.

    So did Bush.

'It's just a god damned piece of paper'
    -George W. Bush

Just remember the Patriot Act was a bill once. Brought to us by the Bush administration and add to by the Obama administration.

Is that in the same ballpark as allowing foreign troops to operate inside the U.S.? BTW: Canada is no different than the U.S.. We're just hiding the evil a bit better.

How would our ISP get our bank accounts and credit card numbers? All of this information is encrypted when submitted on the internet. Someone smarter than me care to share?

Edit: Nevermind. I'm an idiot. They're probably just gonna store the info we give them to pay for our bills.
