Actually, link #4 is not just "some garbage source"....it's a letter from EPIC to Adam Putnam who was the Chair of the House Reform Subcommittee on Technology in 2003 in regards to the practice of datamining that US Government agencies took part in.

EPIC = Electronics Privacy Information Center...these people actually want to protect your privacy....

Not the first time I've seen that letter.

EPIC is actually fighting this bill, among other things. A lot can be learned by reading a simple website though, so here's the link for those that have never heard of EPIC: http://epic.org/

Oh, for those in the US....if you want to see something that's really worth getting mad about, have a read here if you didn't already know about this...: http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/...-infrastructure-to-china-at-a-blistering-pace

Pro tip - I don't listen to idiots like you.

And thanks for the correction sykozis, I didn't read into the last one carefully because the first three were just silly stuff.

For the record, my first post "attacking" Randy was really just a "lol" post referencing all the other instances where he got threads closed. It's not like I actually looked at his sources before posting that.

Lol, so really you didn't even look at the sources before sprouting your bs. Typical. Douche bags like yourself need to keep out of these kind of threads and stop trolling. And how you can still say it's "silly stuff" I don't know. Plus, you do listen to people like me cause you still reply. Can't take a hit can you? Do you cross the road without looking? LOL.

Also, RandyB posts some interesting stuff, stuff that affects everyday people cause he does give a s*** about people and tries to make people aware of things that maybe new to others. Yeah, threads get closed. What matters is people knowing and finding out for themselves whether there's any truth to the stuff he posts.

ice445, you're too young to grasp what people like RandyB is doing. His cause is to wake people up. Controversial as his topics may be, if he's right...he's right. Pure and simple. I've seen many of his posts being attacked and I've stfu. But, what you're saying is an injustice to the information at hand. So for once, stand aside and let people discuss without ridicule.

I don't listen to things like that pathetic insult you threw at me last post. As idiotic as I find you, I'll still gladly read your posts if they offer something (As in, actual constructive additions to the topic). I'm pretty sure you're just mad that the last thread got closed, and you can't deal with having your "superior" opinion challenged. Because honestly, nothing I've said in this thread was really a big deal at all. The only thing I've even said related to the topic was that I don't find advertising companies tracking information a big deal.

But whatever, keep insulting me, it's definitely making you look intelligent. It's also going to help the thread longevity.

As fun as it is to see two people fight, it would be nice to stay on topic.

I apologize to Randyb... for this one occurrence. There. Now let's all hug and get over ourselves.

Wouldn't IP blockers like peerblock prevent this?

They do it all the time with phone records and bank accounts. Why would the internet be any different really?

I think the reson why people are more worried about the internet is because most (if not all) view things that are considered morally wrong. Like for example, google searching questionable things online, or porn searching. If there is a paper trail so to speak this really upsets people. But the truth is police have all our phone records, credit card records, all sorts of records if they need them.

Here you go again, someone spreading FUD about Steam. Steam ONLY records your programs WHEN IT ASKS YOU IN A RANDOM SURVEY FOR YOUR PERMISSION. It is opt-in only and doesn't hardly ever happen. I've only had one in the past 2 years.

No! Your ISP still sees everything you do and they are the ones the Government will get the log information from based on this bill.

Apologies accepted. I just wish people would understand that I spend hours, each day, just researching many different topics and I never accept it as fact, until I've cross-referenced, collaborated and double checked the data. There is much information in the world that isn't readily available and that the average citizen isn't supposed to be aware of. Knowledge IS power. Obama does have an "internet kill switch". This is NOT theory. They have the power to do this:

There are numerous sites, where visitors are now greeted with this certificate, after the site has been shut down by Homeland Security. Granted, many sites are illegal; but this move can just as easily be used to suppress "free speech". Actually, "Political Correctness" pretty much killed off free speech.

Government ALWAYS gets bigger and people lose their individual power/privacy. It is a tipping scale.

And the government will use whatever sugar coated reasoning to push its desire passed the sheeple. :bang:
