Hello, im using an old Tube TV connected via S-Video on the TVOUT of a Gainward 8800 GTS 640 MB with Vista Business x64 Since the 169.XX Drivers no picture is shown on the TV screen. The 163.75 driver worked perfect. By changing resolutions und refreshrates the TV picture pops up for one second and after that it´s blank, but the TV is found by the driver, even though it´s marked as "HDTV" device in the driver menu. Maybe u know a solution for that "bug". Greets P.S: I also wrote a report to nVidia.
You can change the region settings for your country(NTSC/PAL)in nvidia control center. I have to change to PAL/B, then i get color. Maybe you should give it a try. Do u have a Plasma or TFT on TVOUT? Like i said, the TV is recognized by the GFX card, but no picture. :-/ Do you user something like Rivatuner for TVOUT?
Use the built in in nvidia control panel, and since i'm using component cables for my TVout (Rear projection TV) I can't change the settings.
OMG I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS!!! THANK YOU FOR POINTING THIS OUT. i cant go on older drivers becuase im G92. i was about to call my resellers about this.
I hope you will still read this. I had the same problem, I was conected to the s-video. Then I had the RCA conected to the blue output of the composite and I have picture. the quality is pretty good, all settings worked. When I was conected to the s-video I had the same porblem, image only appear for 1 second when I changet the settings and then dissapear
I have had the same problem with my TV connected throught the DVI to HDMI, I solved it by installing older drivers, but maybe this is not an alterative for you.
NVIDIA drivers differentiate an S‐video TV from a composite TV by searching for 75‐ Ohm loads on the chrominance and luminance lines. If the driver detects only one such load, it assumes that it has a composite TV and drives both chroma and luma onto that line. This approach allows both types of TV to display in color. Unfortunately, some S‐video TVs do not apply the correct load to both lines, causing the driver to detect an S‐video TV as a composite. The driver, in turn, sends the lower quality signal to the S‐video TV. To work around this problem, use the Control Panel to override the Auto‐select feature. This can be done following these steps: 1 In the Settings tab of the Display Properties Control Panel, click Advanced. 2 In the nView tab, click Device Settings and click Select Output Device. 3 In the Device Selection tab, click the TV option. 4 Change the Video output format to S‐video.
I think Nvidia fixed the S-video out issue now becvause i just plugged in my lpatop to my tv and it works!! the RCA ones still wont work.
