This True 3D display technology developed by Burton uses a laser to creates luminous points of light at desired locations in air or underwater. This system is an evolved version of technology co-developed...

Colour dose not dictate if "something" is 3D or 2D

Why is everyone so demanding all the time?
Every time when the greatest new tech comes out, everyone is like, "meh it's not much of an improvement", or "oh, it can only do this?", while significant new milestones are achieved.

We have to start somewhere guys, just like with the black and white tv. I think this is a cool development, a great view on the future!

Yeah exactly I was gonna say that as well, we all (well I did, I'm old!) started with black and white TV as well. Innovation and tech evolution over the years led us to the nice totally thin 1080P HDTV screens we are watching now.

because i have seen this before? some years ago actualy with more then 1 colour. the technique used to create the 3d images is also an issue. i cant see how this technology could be improved. its like a students project and this is what came up in the end.

true 3d technology is probably never going to be possible. the physical limitations to it are just not overcomable. unless you find a different way to trick your brain instead of trying to trick the eye.

if you actually read or listened to the video "A color display can also be achieved by using a combination of red, green, and blue lasers."

This is tech I hope takes off quickly now, so cool. Also seems very feasible and highly marketable

I don't see why people are complaining about this either.

Looks pretty sweet to me, and while it's not usable in the real world yet, it won't take much to improve.

Just needs a higher framerate as the flicker is abit intense right now, some red and blue lasers thrown in, and then we have something like the Star Wars picture above.

I think you totally underestimate engineers.
I aint too young myself, and trust me when I say I feel like i'm living in a science fiction movie sometimes.
Compared to what I had as a kid, hell, if I compare it to my fathers / grandfathers time....
Guys, those guy lived in the stone age. In 30 years technology has gone through such leaps and bounds, 3d picture seems like another challange, nothing more.

You're thinking of "True Colour", but the word "true" isn't a standard so the two have no relation.

The word true here is meaning that the display is actually projected across 3 dimensions, unlike the two dimensions of a monitor which merely simulate a 3D effect.

Monitors started their life displaying only green with limited everything else

True 3D may also start its long journey to become the LCD equivalent we have as monitors today
