It's crazy but fun to see what this new stuff can do.. I'm so impatiant.. Cant even wait for waterblocks. Starting that project tomorrow. Just wanted one last look at the quad-fire before I take the cases off

When the 5870x2 comes out I may just have to do that man!

Thanks Quixz! It's been fun, but sometimes all this hardware and driver fixing can be a bit of a headache. Some games run amazing as well as benches and then others just fall flat. It's weird. Pretty much overkill I guess.

 

evga 4-way classified and a xeon 3580.. video posted tomorrow as well as quad-fire/tri-fire benches.. rc6,rc7,rc8 do make a difference.

I'll be going 3 monitor Eyefinity in a couple of days' time, just need to learn a bit more about what cables to get, which monitor MUST be hooked up to the DP output on the card and such.....man, I feel like a noob again.

Where on earth are the results , I hardly see benchmarks..
We'd be further amused if we had results posted..
It's high time already..

 

The crossfirex is not working with all games,but farcry 2 works pretty good.So its probley kinda hard to give results .

I am sure he is installing different version of drivers ,OS's and getting his water blocks made and going nuts at the same time.For me it would be so upsetting that I would try anything to get it just right.I also would not sleep for days until it was perfect.

He has a wicked setup and hopefully AMD relases the **** to get that great machine working top notch.

I would also love to see any benchmark that is working good though.

I've been working on this driver issue for a while. I'll post what I have so far. I did see a review with 4 5870's in crossfire x, so I'm testing those drivers as we speak and it's looking awesome!! Only had 2 hours of sleep so far this weekend. Trying to get it all done and posted before work on monday. Cheers everyone!! Somewhere near Orlando. Temps are pretty good for that many gpu's. The highest I've seen on one card max was 70c under full load.. Pretty impressive.

What happened to the Asus Mars cards you ordered? Did you end up getting em? It would be great to see a comparison between them and your 5870's!

Also could you record some of your gameplay and upload it to youtube? It'd be pretty awesome to see.

I think Asus actually decided to stop production for some reason.. Scan took it off their site as well..
Anyway, I canceled that the day amd/ati released the 5870's. Asus mars is crap. They should have made waterblocks for them. 100c for a card is just horrible. Plus most people on xs Killed their mars the first day

as far as xfire scaling..this new series doesn't scale very well YET..xfire does scale well on the 4 series and im sure the 5 series will as well with driver updates..

 

I've managed to get some really good results between rc6,rc7,rc8..
I think rc7 may be the winner. There is one weird thing about it though. The fan speed manually sets itself on 20% when the other cards are not being used. Not a bad thing, just weird.

 

3dmark 06 being benchmarked. Also some games. Never have seen 06 hit beyond 500 fps before. This is exciting indeed
