Hi, I have a Toshiba M105-S3074 laptop. Recently, the laptop has not been able to charge. When I plug in the AC adapter, the computer will detect the AC power, and even switch my power scheme to full power. However, the battery does not charge, and will just gradually discharge. I originally believed the battery was the problem. However, my brother has the EXACT same laptop. We switched batteries, his battery did not charge on my machine, but my battery charged on his. We also tried switching the AC adapters, this did not make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
I've seen this on Dell laptops before, but not Toshiba yet! Simply put, the circuitry that manages the laptop battery power system has died, so it either no longer thinks the battery exists, or it thinks the battery is always full. Either way, it won't charge the battery. Replacing the circuitry is a nightmare, but possible. I suggest you get a nice keyboard and mouse and just use the laptop as a desktop replacement, thus eliminating the need for battery life.
