After having watched 'Anger Management' last night where Adam Sandler gets into trouble for touching the arm of an air steward, I wonder if this is going to be something similar. Two sides to every story of course, but the media in this country demonise Clarkson at every turn so who knows how this 'fracas' really developed. I'm sure there was more to it than simply a case of a missing lunch.

I also wonder what the hell I'm paying my TV license fee for, Top Gear is literally the only thing I still watch on BBC - most of the interesting stuff on there was replaced with happy clappy politically correct dross years ago.

Could this be the end of Top Gear? If it is then the BBC are in big trouble what with the talk of them going to a subscription only service to fund their programming; they'll have lost out on many millions of subscriptions if Top Gear is over.

I used to love TG, but last few months/year I just get sick of hearing their rubbish, they repeat the same 'clever' lines over and over, such as "It'll buff out" when they write a car off, it's not even really funny any more IMO, blatant setups for bad things to happen and terrible acting surprised when it does

It seemed to change around the time they did the India special, as if they had a different director or whoever runs the show, things that looked like they really messed up and made mistakes became extremely obvious what they were doing before it happened, and that they all knew fine well they were about to rip the front off hammonds car etc

TBH, unless it went back to the funny stupid genuine mistakes top gear, Im not that fussed if it gets cancelled, it's not the TG I used to enjoy anyway

The BBC took over the production company after the India special, maybe that had something to do with it. I agree, some of the jokes are stale and the show would benefit from being less scripted, but I still look forward to it on a Sunday evening when everything else is either a 'talent' show or a 'reality' show of some description where, let's face it, neither talent or reality seem to feature at all...

Ah right, yea that would explain it then, I'm probably getting sick of it along with the changes, because it's on channel Dave repeated almost all day every day too, and almost every other freeview channel is just absolute cr4p, I mean how many chat shows, australian animal rescue and judge judy / rinder rubbish do we need?

The last couple of years it's as if whoever decides what is broadcast on freeview has really taken a serious interest in finding the most annoying, boring and repetitive sh1t to put on and repeat like 4 times a day if you leave that channel on

Seriously, I couldn't create a worse programme schedule if I tried

And don't get me started on the adverts :bang:

It's as if they have made a deal with Sky or someone, put the most horrendous rubbish on freeview so people become so demented they subscribe to a Sky package

I wouldn't be surprised if another station picked him up and did a near identical show tbh, there's money to be had in the formula and he's the one who made it what it is. The BBC's overly PC policy is laughable really, and more than a little two faced considering all the shat they've pulled over the years.

I don't get why they don't just let him do what he wants. He's one of the few entertainers actually keeping it real these days and not caring who they offend.

I hope Clarkson gets arrested and charged with ABH.

You don't hit people you work with, you just don't do it and if this was a coffee shop employee and boss, or an office and the employee struck their boss - that is what would happen.

It addition to that, they would be sacked and they would get a clear and recognisable criminal record.

Top gear is pretty much the only bbc program worth paying the bloody license fee for!! It's the only thing I watch on the bbc since they stopped full coverage of f1, who knows what's gonna happen but the show is a massive hit, I can't see them cancelling it but the show wouldn't work without him, the three presenters make the show what it is.

It wouldn't surprise me if Clarkson ends up back and with a pay rise to go with it, just don't think the BBC can afford to cancel it and don't think it would work with a new presenter either, might not like him as a person but he does amuse me sometimes.

Might even be a publicity stunt, the show loves controversy and Clarkson seems more than willing to play the bad guy role.

The show has been crappy for years now, but still has it's moments and unusually enjoy the Xmas specials.

Yes lets do that, I mean no one apart from Clarkson the person he was meant to have hit and maybe a witness or two actually know what really happened and the circumstances behind it all but let's join the two sides of the crowd.

The side that want the book, the sink and Ferraris latest car thrown at him

    and the side

That want him back with a pat on a back and a fond ahhh that's our Clarky.

No one knows what happened and no one is telling us the full story so perhaps we should save the Hate Clarkson / Love Clarkson campaigns until we actually know what happened.

Oh and I like Clarkson but I would prefer to hear the whole story before jumping on a band wagon.

    This.

It used to be genuinely funny, the challenges were fun the specials really good to watch because they played off the 3 presenters really well. Now its all big scripted gags and repeated jokes. I watched last years christmas special and aside from seeing the argentinian reaction to them at the end it was mostly dross.

I like Clarkson, hes a grumpy old git who tells it like he sees it but I can live without top gear in its current form. They shouldn't pander to Clarkson but neither should they demonise him either. Just let the BBC sort it out and Top Gear will be back im sure.

I have no doubt if this was just a shouting match then Clarkson will be back, and the rating will go up due to this fracASS, but really, what a complete manchild this twats is, christ on a stick, 54 and having a tantram at the dinner table, and all because he had a hard days work, yeah i wil tell that to Mr/Mrs Joe blogs when they just finished their 40+ hours a week stacking shelves for min wage, poor soul, how does he cope with such hard work, what a trooper.

From what i read in the rag mags today while getting a haircut Clarkson comes across as a complete c**t, arriving in his helicopter @ 11pm, complaining about no steak( cos the place was closed ) and the manager etc having to cook it eventually.

Anyway was just a ragmag but Clarkson does come across as a complete c**t and in which case good riddance. I enjoyed him immensly in TG and in the Sunday papers but didnt realise he was such a twat.

Top Gear has been turd for years now. It's not a car show and it's not funny. When I want to watch a car show, I'll watch Chris Harris on YouTube.

Clarkson is unbearable. Hammond is a clown. May should just leave and do his own thing.

May practically has left and has his own thing, he does marginally sciency shows, man lab and toy stories among others (I quite like both of them), and unlike the other two he's actually involved in them outside of a voice over/advertisement. Best I can see he's genuinely interested in doing the solo shows he does.
