The divison 2 live alpha starts today.
Just got invitation to closed alpha few moments ago
I'm in as well, sadly we can't share anything though, NDA.
In too - goddamn watermarks though
You are not missing much. Really. Same old if not for the worse.
Hoping for more SP stuff this time around that's what interests me.
*spoiler* I have never ever seen such massive watermark in any NDA alpha i've ever been invovled in lol *spoiler*
Got the invite as well but of course I was on vacation during that weekend so I couldn't test it
Really enjoyed testing it. The atmosphere was great. I guess there'll be an open beta in February again like last time with DIV1.
Decided to do a complete restart on this as I haven't played it for well over a year and with my Ryzen upgrade wanted to see how it looked (Ultra and 60fps, thought I'd get 2k but 1080p is fine too), deleted my two existing characters and started again from scratch, so much new stuff in it like commendations etc I feel a little lost but it's great to start afresh. Tried my first ever Survival mode and managed to get stuck on geometry which was annoying! Like that you can play the mode right away and don't need to be level 30 etc. Think I'll read up some tips on the mode and play it a bit more, so far only rescued the doctor in story mode
Yah, I reinstalled over the Holidays, purely for survival.
It is the best implementation of this type of gameplay in any game I have played, I just cannot get enough of it.
I thought about returning to Division too, probably should.
I barely tried Survival before so it would still be fresh.
Though will likely end up grinding Resistance anyway, lols!
I've taken a few months break from the game so maybe it's time to see what's happening.
Plus to see how the RTX card runs the game vs. my old one.
btw I really, really, really hope Ubisoft don't repeat Bungie's mistakes with Division 2, ie. break what already worked (as was the case with Destiny to Destiny 2).
And then "fix" the game by just eventually restoring things to how they were.
This isn't bitching about Destiny 2 but just that if you already have something that works, don't break it.
Imo Division was far superior game to Destiny either way but that's personal preference (I enjoy the ARPG / loot system of Division a lot more. Very polished gunplay and cool setting on top of that is a bonus).
I must admit coming back to it I find the whole gear set thing even more overwhelming, I wonder if there's a simpler way of doing it, or even an app or something to help you choose! I should have stripped my two characters before I deleted them but I did still end up leaving loads of gear and weapons in my chest so could come in handy and save some of the grind later on
Should get you started. I used to visit Division Field Guide but it's very outdated by now.
There are calculators available too, ie. how certain talents/skills affect your stats or vice versa:
(based on patch 1.5 so somewhat outdated as well, but mainly because some skills/talents/perks have had their stats buffed or de-buffed)
Part of the fun is working out what sets / bonuses you want and what other pieces may compliment it.
Also depends greatly on whether you want a PvE or PvP build.
Always PvE I abhor people!
Very useful links thank you
Hmm... yes, I think one more reinstall of Division is in order. Gotta practice to be ready in March for Division 2
(Skimmed through few pages back (also damn I spam this thread a lot ) and seems I haven't played since last April at least, so almost a year).
Did they remove all the farming? Think the last one I used to do was the Police Station where you glitch through the door, and possibly the Staples centre or whatever that one is where you kill the bad guy first before he drops down and that spawns a second one with golds?
Survival is way more fun than resistance and it is different every time.
It's so well done.
Destiny 2 never hooked me, I've played it on and off but I never feel compelled to play it, it's more a case of forcing myself
Yep Survival is interesting and def. different from other modes and well made!
It just felt easier to grind other modes, esp. Resistance, but Resistance does get repetitive and boring in the long run.
Feel the same way about Destiny 2. Nothing wrong with the gameplay and gunplay is as good as you'd expect from a Bungie game but game just fails to give incentive for me.
Division on the other hand, well... re-downloading now (for some reason my offline backup was no more).
Btw UPlay advertises that Prime Shield challenge, what's that about?
Also "unlock exclusive rewards starting from Dec 6"!
