He should be able to run it just fine on all high settings...I have a superclocked evga 970 and it ran everything at full settings in the beta, and my monitor is 1920x1200.

It's always online but you can play solo. In fact I recommend it till you get the hang of it and some equipment.
For me the hidden gem of the game is the solo play where you keep an ear to the intel you collect all over the place. This their actual story telling method and for me it fits perfectly.

 

I'd matchmake with the missions so you can play on Hard and get more/better loot. You could solo the missions on normal difficulty but probably not on hard.

The DZ really isn't that bad. I've been in there a short while and may have seen 3 or 4 people go Rogue and one of those was me. Most people I've seen are there to get loot.

 

Rather pointless isn't it? Maybe to replay the game and have a different appearance.

Perhaps they should of made it that you could only follow one chosen skill path so there would be reason to make different characters.

What I would like to see is a favorites gear loadout so you can switch on the fly.

 

Did you see the mouse pointer and/or hear sound? If so press alt+enter it's a known and annoying bug with the game

I play only SP as I'm anti-social, really enjoying it as a dystopic open worldish RPG, I'm level 10 after about 12 hours of play, some missions are tough with being solo but they can either be held off until you're tougher/have better equipment or just retry until you figure out the right strategy!

 

The game uses whatever the monitors max reported screen resolution is and it defaults to borderless mode by default.

This means that if you use DSR or VSR it'll run at those resolutions and the window will go past the edges of the desktop instead of scaling since DSR and VSR only works correctly in true / exclusive fullscreen mode.
(And with the main menu being mostly black it looks almost like it has crashed but sound should still be on and pressing up arrow and then space twice should exit out of the game or just alt-f4)

Turning it off, starting the game and then setting up the graphics options and screen res and then turning DSR and VSR on again should solve it.

 

Yeah first time I launched the game it was at 4k which my hardware cannot handle at all, looked amazing though! I had to do my character creation at about 4fps as I couldn't be bothered to go through that unskippable intro movie again!

 

You can have multiple characters, its for the endgame challenges.

More characters = more chances for loot, Same way Destiny does it.

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm surprised more people aren't aren't making a fuss over it. It can be distracting.

 

Another empty dark zone, where erbuddy at? Hard to farm loot alone especially against legendary npcs. It was fun watching npcs fight each other though.

 

If anyone is looking to farm challenging missions and DZ bosses/mobs for high-end gear, give me a shout!
Only requirements are a mic (you don't need to speak constantly, but just use it for warnings and emergencies) and be decently good at the game.

Gonna try them myself now anyway but I already got occasional flicker with the original SLI bits

 

I had flickering buildings when I tried to downsample from 3840x2160 so it might be some other issue too and not just a SLI profile issue, game could do with a patch I suppose.
(Besides the previous update fixing localization another one is already planned for from what I can see via SteamDB and the various branches the game developers have set up for this title, TU2 which was the previous update and TU3 which should be the next patch.)

 

I am the only one who does not appreciate the style letters with a sort of shadow behind? Looks like we see double.
