As player turns to left side, watch right side for that drastic change in shader code on very low distance. It is horrific from graphical perspective.

And if you think it looks good overall, Think that this is downsampled to cca. 40% of entire screen. And even after this more than 2:1 reduction there are noticeable effects of sharpen/blur effects.

And in 1st 3 frames you can see popping-in static meshes (stairway on side of building).

Then as he turns around you see some weird blue reflection which would end up being in middle of building, but building has nothing there. Probably baked with different version of building.

At end of sequence, there is reflection on left side which does not show entrance to underground railway which is right next to window.

If this was supposed to show good graphics, then it failed in less than 5 seconds of its length.

The Battlefield games manage it ok without humans. But you could well be right given the RPG aspects and bullet sponge enemies.

Can't think of any game that holds up under that kind of scrutiny. The game looks like crap from a gameplay perspective, and that is enough for me. I don't play games analyzing every brick and blade of grass. This games looks are enough to do the job, and honestly it looks pretty decent. The gameplay on the other hand....

I was gonna post something about game mechanics and bullet sponge enemies that don’t even wear armor, but since it is going to drown in bitching about graphics there is no point. Good job PCMR!

Yea that was pretty bad. UI looks crap as well, so much stuff going on on the screen. It might look decent enough on Ultra but gameplay still looks pretty lame.

The PVP elements do look interesting from the footage I've watched so far. If you can get over the damage mechanics it looks refreshing different. It could make for some intense firefights for high end loot.

Yes, I can bet on going rogue and then run right through 10 players trying to take me down and then get away alive.

I know it's an unpopular opinion.

Sadly this is true. But how can a game look good when it has to run well on two different spec'ed consoles? But at least the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions got overlooked this time.

Yah, I think Ill skip this.

It's the reason I started hating ArmA 3 - pumping 8-9 .45 rounds into enemies at point blank range only to have them accurately return fatal fire in my direction.

I don't mind if bullets are slightly underpowered in games but this game seems to have taken it to ridiculous extremes.

Hopefully it will be a little less ridiculous in the release version.

well, if graphics are very good than there is a big possibility that gameplay will be good. Can someone remind me a game with awesome graphics and trash gameplay?

I think it is a little bit harsh to say that it is extreme. Ubisoft have toned down the bullet spongeness of NPC's from the alpha version. It can easily be adjusted with patches.

Graphics are fine, looks to me like an improved Watchdogs engine (which I found to look pretty nice when it came out), the gameplay however... ugh.

I doubt it's something for me. I mean I love Borderlands, and would probably have liked Destiny if I had a console, but that gameplay in a modern-ish day theme with humans and real-ish guns is just crazy looking with those damage numbers and bullet sponge enemies. I guess we'll see, but I have very little expectations for this now.

That's good news, I was only going on what I'd heard.

Maybe I will pick it up after all :p

Jackfrags has a good video showing off the possible fun that can be had. Note the shotgun damage when in the dark zone. Two shots to take health down to almost zero.

Was going to say this as well.. any game will "look like crap" when you go over it with a fine toothed comb like that.. seriously.. show me a game that doesn't suffer from any of the typical arguments that people try to make vs a game's graphics?

And even with that, how much will graphics ultimately make or break a game like this? Sure, if it looks pretty and plays well it will draw people to play it, since I'm convinced some people only play games these days for their graphics.. meanwhile the rest of us who wish for an actual interesting and "fun" game to play would sooner sacrifice graphics for *gasp* A FUN GAME.
