    Hi, all.

You guys probably already know how much the new 4000 series graphic cards are going to be.

Right now, I have GTX 1070 and my brother James has RTX 2060 Super.

We were planning to buy the 4070 or 4060 when they come out but they are going to be expensive.

My question is should I wait or pull the trigger and buy the 3070 or 3070 TI or even 3060? There is a rumor that the refresh is coming for the 3000 series so that is my concern too. What do you guys think? Would you buy now or wait for the refresh or the 4000 series?

Look at the used market. It's just starting to explode with cheap 3000 series cards. If your looking for bang for buck, that's gonna be your ticket.

I'm on a GTX 1070 as well, and going to wait for the RTX 4060, maybe a 4070, depends what the TDP is.

Buying a 3000 series now feels like a desperate move.

I almost bought a used 3070 Asus Strix in the early summer, for 500 euros, because it had only a few months of ownership and thus wouldn't have necessarily been mined to death. I left it up to fate by deciding that if it's still available the next day, I will buy it, if it's not, then it wasn't my destiny to get it. Someone else bought it. Honestly I was kind of relieved because I never liked the idea of buying a card right after a mining craze ended. Even if it's a young card, it's possible the owner flashed on it some weird memory overclock bios, broke the memory, and then it would be up to you to deal with the warranty process if you bought it, unknowingly.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but a friend of mine plays 1080p@60hz only and wants to get some RTX 3xxx ... what card should he take to have fun with it for the next 3 to 5 years? Is some 3060 non-ti enough or should he aim higher? He still owns some GTX970.

I play 1080@144 with 3060ti. I went to it from 2070s so I chose ti version to be closer to previous card.

PS Steady 60 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark (with RT but not Ultra, DLSS Quality).

3060 non-ti is not enough whatsoever. Aim higher and over 1080p@60 please.

    Why?

If one is happy with 60 FPS let them enjoy that, i will forever stick to 60 FPS as well due to power consumption, heat and noise.

We talked about 1080p60hz already, but I cannot convince him ... so be it.

3060ti is enough you say? So for 3 to 5 years a 3070 or its ti version should suffice I think. Thanks a lot. :)
