For 1080p gaming which graphics card makes the most sense? (Foreseeable future)

    My current rig as-is:

    Core i7-5820K
    16GB DDR4 2133
    EVGA GTX 690 4GB
    Cooler Master HAF 932 Case
    256GB SSD OS
    3TB External Storage

    I'm looking to upgrade to:

    Core i9-9900K
    32GB DDR4 2133-2600
    RTX 2070 8GB
    1TB SSD (Games/Storage/Apps)
    256GB SSD (OS)
    3TB External (Storage)

I'll give you guys some context, I am a video editor and producer working freelance and actually have over 200k YouTube subscribers right now, so CPU does matter for rendering, etc. Plus I do gaming live streams and stuff like that as well. My GTX 690 is running on its last legs @1080p gaming and it's really about time for a refresh. I intend on gaming and staying at 1080p for the foreseeable future and I don't intend on 4K gaming anytime soon, just wanted to state that, but I DO want a little bit of "futureproofing" going on, which I intend on receiving with getting the RTX 2070 over the 2060, more RAM and basically a 1080p refresh, which would be a nice upgrade for me at this time. Any recommendations?

*I'd obviously be upgrading my motherboard too*

    Thank you all!

For 1080p 60FPS, RTX2060 is more than enough and will be in near future. If you must have all eye-candies or pairing with 144hz panel, then RTX2070 might be better choice.

9900K should be great for your needs.

Wait couple of months then upgrade to Ryzen 3000. You'll have 12c24t cpus for the price of 9900k. That will come in handy for a content creator.

As for gpu that can be upgraded even now. I'll probably go with 2070 instead 2060.

If you want to use RTX features I would recommend the RTX2080 for 1080p to keep fps higher and to give you some future proofing as we don't no where RT is going. the 2080 is really a 1440p GPU which means it will be awesome at 1080p for a while if you plan upgrading again within a couple of years go 2070 for a good RT experience now

Yeah, increasing the RAM speed makes sense, appreciate that!

Is money an issue? 1080p RTX 2060 is good and if you want the new tech etc ray tracing dlss...
if not.. 1660ti is a very good card and good price and you generally dont care abt ray tracing...

hehe on the side note of ssd i recommend the Samsung 970 EVO plus 1tb or WD SN750 SSD.. take advantage while the prices of dram is dropping grab yourself some good ssd, gpu is important but on a daily basis system performance and games loading speed matters :)
