Seems my Asus P8Z68 MB is coming to the end of it's life (has issues booting up , so Im leaving my pc on 24/7) What would be a good upgrade for me? My Processor is Intel Core i7 2600K. Would another Asus board, but a Z87 board with a new i7 K processor be worthy upgrade? Or should I keep the processor and get a Z77 Board?
If you can sell that CPU for a good price it might be worth moving to Haswell, since you'll be swapping the mobo out anyway. Otherwise just grab a decent Z77 tbh.
I think the CPU is still good, as it does what I need it to do (plus easy overclock). So I think there is still a lot of mileage left on it. Any suggestions on Z77 board? I'm use to running ASUS boards
I'm a fan of Gigabyte boards, have found them smooth sailing for years now. Asrock are well worth looking at also, some fantastic price / performance with their boards lately. It really depends on how much you want to spend and what you need the mobo to do.
What Z77 boards are still available to you? Stock is getting low in some areas for higher end boards, what are your options.
